PH up and down in res bad?

So i've read many times that adding both up and down to stabilize ph is bad; but how bad? I have an automatic ph adjuster set to a 5.6 to 6.0 range with a probe that is permanently in the res, that monitors and adjusts as needed. I added the veg nute mix, but forgot to unplug the up/down lines (I try to let it settle because I learned the hard way that it would bounce back and forth and pump up and down in to the res). Anyway, ended up doing it again and raised ppm by 15...is this bad? Should the batch be dumped?

It's an American Marine. More of a pain in the ass than anything.

Is it relative though? Say if the original veg nute batch was mixed to 150...

I use low/weak mineral water from a spa in France (ph7.6) as ph+. Obviously takes more than usual and not useful for automatic ph-ing.

Well, I'm not sure that you want to add both since they should negate the effects of the other. At the very least, you might be wasting money, and at the worst, you're probably causing some damage to your plants when you try to move things around too much.

I would wait and see what happens for a bit, but it may already be too late.

Plain and simple for hydro setups. If you PH drops drastically, then your solution is too "HOT"! If it rises drastically, then your solution is too "WEAK"! Mixing both up and down PH buffers are not optimal by any means. It will still work, but the best method is feeding light, and waiting for PH to rise gradually. Once you know your plant/strain, then you will be more informed of when/how much to add to keep the plant "happy"!

Unfortunately, more often that not, people WAY overfeed their plants(weeds)! If you don't overfeed, then PH up will never be required!(If you do require it, then learn to read your plants more and not run into the issue in the future!)

The only method of PH up in my growing culture, is using my base.(my water) Adjust accordingly and you will notice many benefits!

Try to prove me wrong!

Your pH comments assume that the PPM/EC is going up as pH goes down, and PPM/EC is going down as pH goes up... yes? If so, that's pretty well documented everywhere and there's nothing to really to argue in that respect.

those exact same symptoms of overfeeding can show up in underfeeding as well. just a thought.

How will these exact symptoms show with underfeeding? There will be other factors to consider regardless of what I have posted prior to this! This all falls back on "reading your weed(plant)"! I can go in depth with visual descriptions all you want to help you decide which is which!

I think someone needs to re-read what I posted. There is more info that meets the eye in what I have.......

I don't think you need to throw it out, but it's something to watch.

you just dont want to mix them in the concentrate from. If you over shoot with pH up, you can use pH down no problem
