pH value in soil growing, in/out dilemma

hello guys, I have a question about pH value when we use soil. As all of you surely know the guides will tell us that value of the water we should aim for is pH 6.5 when we grow in soil and my question is, should that be the pH of the water going in the soil or the rundown from the pot? (which would presumably represent the state of water in the soil)

To elaborate my confusion I will use one chart I found on the net because it relates vaguely to the results in my grow.

When I test my water going in the soil I tune it to 6.5 so to follow the chart (and numerous other sources) and when I test the rundown of that water its usually around 5.8, sometimes just a tad lower. Logic draws me to the conclusion that the water has additionally reacted to the soil which lowered its pH and yet we get such an uniform recommendation for the pH of the water in soil growing without knowing anything of the growers actual used soil which is again a huge factor. This leads me to the conclusion I should measure my pH of the rundown and tweak my water going in so the end results is ~6.5, does this sound right or should I just stick with what I'm doing now?

Hmmm, I have the same ish problem but I go in at 6.5 and the runoff is normally bang on 7. I guess its down to a number of things including soil and nutes used etc. What I have found though is unless your plants are telling you there is something wrong then just stick to what you are doing - no need to make things more complicated if the plants are looking healthy. I.E stick to 6.5 - 6.6 going in. Never had a visual ph problem.

if your run-off PH is significantly lower then your feed, your mix is lacking Dolomite Lime or Crushed Oyster Shell.
