i just bought 8 phantom 1k watt ballasts. There working great so far, they have a soft start on them which is genius, you don't damage bulbs or components from excessive re-starts. Each ballast ran at 220v. takes 4.2amps electric. Extra quiet !! I mean , these things barely make a sound. You can mount these ballast's vertical or horizontal. No fans on these ballasts so dirt/dust can't get in the unit,Plus the fans are noisy and break down on you anyways.

Overall I am pleased with the purchase, These ballasts are quiet, effective and reasonably priced. Nothing bad to say about these Ballasts !

Finished 2 crops with these Phantom ballasts so far and their working great !
Super quiet, dimmable switches no stupid nosiy fans on them "cuz they dont need it and it only premotes dust/debris getting in your ballast" also have the optiOn to place them vertical as opposed to tradition horitzontal placement. I Ended up mounting mine to the wall but if u wanted you could mount vertical on the floor.

Good buy IMO

Phantoms are great.

I use em myself. 600w dimmables.

I'll tell you this: I used to work for a hydroponics retailer. I saw a lot of returns and issues with quantum/lumatek. That "superlumens" mode on lumatek is bad news for your bulbs.
And I can tell you this, DONT buy CAP valuline ballasts... I mean, they're super cheap and if you get one that works, you lucked out. But I've seen people buy two and neither one would fire a bulb. And dealing with CAP is a pain in the ass. they're not very organized over there and returns take forever. I cant say much for their NextGen ballasts, except they're often out of stock.

Never got a single complaint on a phantom ballast. They run cool and quiet.

Most people will see the most returns on Lumateks for one simple reason, there are 100 Lumateks being used for every 1 of another brand. It only makes logical sense that you would see more returns on them since they are used so much more.

Do phantom Ballasts really run cool? I mean If I put my hand on it will It feel cooler than air temp? I don't think so.

I cant say anything about phantoms.... but ai do have lumatek and quantum... No problems with any of them.... I find the 1000 watt lumatek makes almost no nois, runs extremely quiet and is heavier than the quantum..... But these Quantums look so cool all ligned up on the diamondplate wall.....

i have both the lumatek and quantum and just recently got the new solis tek. The lumatek is quiet but very expensive. the quantum is smaller than the lumatek and cheaper but it makes some noise from the fan. the solis tek i just got was the same price as the quantum and has 7 safety features. its quiet as the lumatek. im see how it goes through one whole run
