picked up my first supplies.

Bought a 2ft x 1ft four tube t5 that I'm going to start my seeds. (In two weeks I'll buy a HD/HPS light 1000w)
I am going to use soil so I bought a bag of happy frog.
I bought a ph meter, calibrator, and adjusters.
A bunch of pots and trays.
I'm guessing this will get me through a few weeks. I'll buy nutes, bigger pots, lights, etc each week. And I'll start building my veg room this weekend.
I'm excited.

Wow, a 1000W HPS right off the bat? You go dude.....Make sure your space will handle the power needs and the temperature requirements needed to host that big light. Don't go burning down your house/garage.

I'm sure I can handle the power. I ran a motorcycle repair shop from my garage and the people before me had a wood working studio . I've had lots of 240v equipment going in there in the past.

Any reason why I shouldn't go with a 1000w HPS? Should I go with two 600w or two 1000w's? I'm wanting to grow 12 plants at a time. I was also thinking of lighting from the sides but not sure if that would be over kill.

Two 600w does better coverage and is more efficient (per watt) than a 1000w.. but it's still another 200w.

Checking ph is dumb. I've never understood it.The t5 will work good, for seedlings, clones yeah.But once you have the flower room going, and your flowering 12, what are you vegging?I would veg 6 under the t5, once their ready, take clones and flower. Once flowering throw the clones under the t5.Once the flowering ones are done, choose the ones you like and keep those clones. Throw the rest out. Then clone, keep six flower six.It's a perfect rotated Garden... Once you have the ones you like, plant the other six. Do the same, keep the Bomb strains. You're limited to 12... Don't waste it and good luckP.S.Better get a strong enough fan and Air filter for that 1K...You could always start out with a 600.... 6 plants 1 600... That's 100w a piece... Pretty ideal.Once you got things smoking... Move up to a 1K
