Picking early/late

I just read that if you pick buds to early, that the smell will never be that great and neither the taste - is this true?? I hate reading too much it gets me ever so paranoid!!

I think taste might be the least of the problems. If you pick it too early you wont get the maximum amount of THC and other cannabinoids. Basically sub-par buds. Wait till the trichrome (crystal) heads are full, clear white, and mushroom shaped. That is the best time to harvest. Or when 1/2 to 2/3 of the white hairs turn red/orange. If you wait till the crystals are amber, you've wauted too long.
