Pineapple Express: Smoke Report

I recently grew out pineapple express, under my LED/fluroscent grow.

The over all quality/potency of the pot I would say is somewhere around upper mids.

It has decent flowering time and resin.

I'd say it's biggest draw back was flavor.

And while my fluro/LED lighting system allows me to achieve unparalleled quality, potency and flavor.
Pineapple express fell totally flat on taste. Not only was the flavor wierd and undesireable. It actually left a shit taste in my mouth. That lasted for almost 2 freaking hours. (Never encountered anything like this before)

So, because of this flavor problem, I'd have to give this strain a zero more or less. And I don't recommend growing it.

I second that. I haven't seen another bad report on this one. I've never heard that you get unparalled quality from a LED either though. Lol!

ive ran through hundreds of pineapple express seeds the taste on all of them is the main reason I grew it I think your mistaken or didnt flush properly

either you had a one in a million bad pheno or ill say its something you did. I grow pe and ive had 2 dif phenos. Both good but the keeper smelt and taste fruity as fuck. This is the first bad report on it ive read.

man ive been hearing some bad shit about pineapple express lately and as the rest said above i find it a pretty good strain. good enough to grow it a few more times.

dude taste of the buds after cure is your problem, if it smelled good when you cut it down- you fucked up somewhere.

i just wrapped out a pineapple express grow on thanksgiving. it was a freebie i got from attitude a long time ago...like a year ago i think.

i popped in 2 days in the paper towels.

yield is unknown at the time (still curing actually) but its definitely gonna be above avg. i grew 1 plant in a 1gal pot under a 150 and right now i have 3 quart size mason jars that are all about 2/3 to 3 quarters full. i grew a bagseed for fun previously and only yielded one completely full quart sized mason jar. which worked out to about 1oz. (just a little over)

i normally dont grow with a 150w. i use to grow w/ 2 600s for flowering but had to scale down but its obvious the pe is above normal in yield.

i havent smoked any actual buds but i have puffed on some sugar leaf. its strong sh*t. no joke. 2 bowls of sugar leaf make me overly energetic/edgy. even sometimes to the point where mild anxiety attacks occur. nothing too bad though...after 15 mins it subsides.

so im sure the actual buds are gonna be amazing since the sugar leaf is dam good on its own.

i didnt get much pineapple scent though in mine. it did have a pineapple scent in the 1st month of flowering but turned into an overall sweet/fruity/floral scent for the remainder of flowering. theres no pineapple really in the finished product either. mostly fruity-like smells with a hint of citrus-y type scents.


i dont think i got the best pheno of pe either. ive read many reports where they swear it has a pineapple scent (a rather strong one). i didnt get so lucky but its a strain id easily grow again. didnt give me many issues to grow either except it needed a bit more N than most of my plants do in flowering but thats no big deal.

i grew a pe clone and the yield was nice. not the strongest stone but im pretty sure that was my fault. the taste was absolutly wonderful but i also flushed until it was completly yellow

You can't take 1 seed from a strain and expect the ONE. I bought 1-5pack PE(thinking I'd need a couple)4 of those looked identical in Veg.

2 tasted Fruity and above average buzz
1 tasted floral and menthol with average buzz
1 my keeper taste Tropical fruit like first 2, but the buzz is similar to OG(A good hybrid high Head and body;Intense)
1 oddball looked totally different, tasted bland with below avg. buzz(threw a few sterile nanners and got pulled @ 7wk)

Luckily I found what i was looking for in a 5 pack, but i wasn't expecting it.

my homeboy grew pineapple express once and it was a good strain. I'd classify that strain as dank bud. If i had a top ten list, pineapple express would be on it.

I have grown PE by G13 in 3 separate crops. It has been one of my quality-consistent strains. I could not make a complaint about it from seed to my brain cells. I hope you have better luck in the future, and I guess I have already been fortunate

HEy whoa! WHOA!! i feel ya bud! i have some pineapple express from the dispensary that is AWFUL just like he described! looks great, smokes horrible.


HOWEVER! i have grown G13 Labs Pineapple express twice. i have some of the cured final product right now ready to be used in my volcano. Both times it was the same kind of piney tropical sweet taste and smell. My friends liked it alot more than i did actually. it has a very strong high too, mostly sativa. always been a big hit so far. certainly a money strain

There are a LOT of different Pineapple expresses... one of my grow buddies has a totally different pineapple express than me from clone. his ends up much more fruity smelling but doesnt have a strong high. Ive seen PE similar to his before too, and plenty of others. has to be one of the most copied strains in recent years. So far the G13 labs seems to be the best
Where did u get yours OP?

I've been doing PE by g13 for a while now and never heard a bad word about her. Not the most hard hitting high but makes up for it in everything else. Sucks you got a bad one tho.

i grew a few g13 pineapples had a strawberry rhubarb phono that was the tastiest treat i had in awhile

Pineapple Express is a Hybrid with very little couchlock and is my buds I smoke throughout the daytime(high yields)
OG13 is my favorite evening smoke and has wraparound effects (Intense Head high first/Sleepy Couchlock 2-3 hrs later)

Yeah it smells strong of Tropical Fruits/Citrus. I can smell it through my curing jars while closed.
