Pistil Change-

I was wondering if it's common for some plants where the trichomes are mature but the pistils are still white? It happened to me once before
a while back with some pineapple chunk (did have a lot of varied stress). The hairs easily fell of but other than that it was ok. Anyways, is it common? Thank you.

I have had several plants do this, it may be due to me not flushing as I have found that to be useless especially when the last 2-3 weeks the plants will produce tons of resin.

yes pistol change can be due to heat stress and other environmental factors, so judging a plants ready-ness is bad to decide by pistols alone
however, I do make sure the calyx' are bursting with resin, the pistols have receded , and then i scope the trichomes daily to gauge when i might be able to harvest

some growers who do the same strain over and over can use pistols as a harvest determining factor because that strain's pistols will be at the same ratio of white to orange as before; but keep in mind this is just something you are doing to make sure the plant is fully matured, based on genetics and stuff

your main goal is peak potency, which is reached after the plant is fully mature and before the plant is over-ripe, which can be in a 10-15 day window

The above is: Perfect advise...

If you had amber trichomes and still had white pistols ... you have issues with your grow.... amber degraded... past ready....
It has nothing to do with flushing....
However, believe what ever you want....

I harvest my plants when the buds have plumped up... there are 90% + cloudy trichomes...
After you harvest... some of those cloudy trichomes turn slightly amber....
as your plant dries...

FYI: "MAX" Potency = as much white trichs as possible...
A fat bud top [with lots of white hairs] = a fat bud....
