Planning out second grow, need advice

Hey all, I'm working on finishing my first grow (multiple strains, all autoflower) and anticipate finishing my first few plants in 2-3 weeks. I've learned my lesson from trying multiple strains (WW, bubblicious, oger) and will stick to a single strain at a time for now. This has been a fantastic learning experience; I am far more confident than I was when I started, though I've got a long way to go yet.

I have since decided to re-work the layout of my grow area to have a 3x6 flood table for flowering and 50gal res for flowering and another area with a few moms to clone off of. I've ordered a pair of 600w HPS lights for flowering and my 430w to veg the moms. I'm using GH Flora series nutes for two WW plants I transplanted from soil to hydro; more for the experiment than to save them. They were in the same acidic soil the autos are in, but 1gal pots instead of the 3gals I used on my other girls. They're pretty stunted though even a few weeks later and I think I'll have to pop a few more beans to get the ball rolling. I had to trim a lot of yellow/dead leaves that were curled down and covering the new growth, which I'd guess halted growth again..

My overall setup to get an idea how things are going to be laid out:

-11x8 room with a 5x8 section divided off
-3x6' flood table with 50gal res
-2x 600w HPS lamps (6" air cooled)
-1x 430w HPS lamp (non-air cooled - for moms)
-6" 450cfm inline fan and carbon filter
-951cfm air pump
-I have a basement window boarded off in the flowering area that I can put a window A/C unit in next Summer if I must but presently temps are between 65f (lights off) and 81f (lights on, door shut) and RH is 20-25" if I turn off the humidifier (presently 45%)
-I am using tap water with 150ppm and 8.0pH (can vary a little)
-GH Flora nutes, GH Root Enhancer, SuperThrive and CalMag additives as well - I have EarthJuice catalyst, good idea or bad to add some to these nutes?
-We're getting a new place once it warms up and when we do, I'm getting constant-reading pH/ppm/Temp meters - I've dropped my cheapo pens in the solution twice each now, while they work (tested w/ calibration solution) I don't want to risk messing things up. I can't justify them now though as they're $150+ per
-Final layout will have 3-4 SoG trays for 2-3wk harvest frequency, constant monitoring meters for each res, res will be slightly angled to have a pump for easy draining and cleaning. Debating keeping a 55gal drum to bubble and pH nutes/additives before cleaning and replacing the res (to prevent pH swings) - The idea here is heavy automation and elimination of variables for the trivial stuff so I can focus on what matters: Making big bud fast and efficiently.

Lastly, I've got quite a selection of quality genetics. Ideally I'd go for the big yielder (I hear PP is a BIG yielder and easy to grow), but I want something that I can count on to survive and produce. I have a choice between several strains: Power Plant, Northern Lights (Not sure if it's #5), Aphrodite, Sleestack X Skunk - Everything is Fem except the Sleeskunk and I've got two fem WW left but I'm hesitant to pop those right now, I'm considering PP or NL but if anyone has any experience growing any of these in SoG and have any suggestions regarding them (suggestion for nute strength, things to watch for etc) I'd appreciate it too. Thanks guys! :eyesmoke:

Don't you all go answering my questions now! It's been a few days and I've had more time to watch my non-auto WW on the flood table, it appears to be picking up growth speed again with big fan leaves on top (though the tall plant has big fan leaves tightly hugging the stem and yellowing with purple stems on the curling leaves). I also received my 2x 600w lights today. Gotta say, the penetration 430w -> 600w is no contest, hoping my buds swell in response (lol). I'm reading 10k+ lux in most plant areas except between a plant and the reflectix wall, I might be able to put away my CFLs..

The autos (specifically the short bushy WW plants) all have top colas as large around as a golf ball, and they have another week or two before they'd be eligible for harvest. The taller plants (specifically my bubblicious plants) have buds as well but they're not swelling up for some reason, they're hugging the stem and growing in clumps.. One plant has a deficiency causing rust spots and yellow fan leaves, I tried flushing with 3 gallons of water and it improved a bit but I think the soil is too acidic for the poor plant to handle properly, I'm watering with 7.8-8.0pH tap water and it's coming out at 6.1-6.4 and 480-600ppm (on all autos) when it used to come out 1000ppm+ and 5.0 or lower pH runoff. The Oger Automatic plants are HUGE compared to the others, the stem itself is around 2.5 feet and the plant is about 3'3" and actually grew ABOVE where the light was. And these were planted on 11/10, they're taller than anything else in the garden. Growth looks good, though the tips are a bit faded; Probably because I fed all plants 1/2 dose on Monday in an effort to replace some of the flowering nutes I washed out.. Since they're quite tall and have lots of branches with bud nodes on them I used some masking tape to hold branches in (no string..) and they're doing well.

Off to the parts store for hooks to hang the veg light and to get clamps; it's getting to 85*f in there with the light on and fan on at ~175-200cfm. I'd raise the fan's output but it gets cold during lights out (was down to 61 the other day) and I don't have the amps for a space heater. My plan here is to route Carbon filter, fan, light, exhaust. I don't have the space to do CF->Light->Fan->Exhaust since I'd have to move the fan to do that.
