I am using cfls for my primary light. But, I am using four 24" aquarium bulbs as supplemental and they are growing better than anything in the past(experience could be playing a role as well). I am using two 10k tubes and two actinic tru blue tubes for the supplemental.are those good for vegging plants? i have 2 40 watters that are 4 feet long. I was told they work the best for flourescent because they give off a full light spectrum.
IMO, You should spend the money on plant purple/6500k PL-L 55w. I posted a bit of info regarding this exact subject last week. When I bought mine they sent me a 10% off coupon code, I already bought all I needed, so if you want the coupon code, shoot me a PM and it's yours. I think its a one time use coupon, otherwise I'd post it in this thread.yea, aquarium tubes could be good, specially the ones with a bit more blue... im buying a 10.000K blue/white PL-L bulb, of 55W. I think its going to work great. Plants seams to like more blue we normally give them. I have a setup with only 42W in fluoros and some blue LEDs, and its working fime until now.
