where does the water go at the bottom? Just out on the floor?

get a big tray for it. Like a round saucer that you sled down the hill in the winter time. anything that the pot fits in. Get a bigger tub and cut it down and make a tray. Shop vac the run off swill that comes out you dont want the pot sitting in runoff.

do you pick the plant up before watering? I like to feel a light pot before watering and I try to water to almost no run-off. I keep my medium moist, but never fully dry.
It's an 18 gallon pot pretty heavy to pickup. I usually wait until the leaves are drooping.
