Hi All,

Next growing test that I arranged with my pro grower IrishGypsy was with this new type Osram LED.

It uses only a total of 90-100W of Power to use but outputs a lot more, as you will see.

This test was also a very hard one as the temperatures were ridiculously low and it took a lot of hard work to keep the seedling alive, but it got though.

One main reason for this was the total under estimation of how hot this led gets, it doesn't.

Its the coolest and quietest LED I have ever tested (to date)

Strain : Black Jack Automatic
Media : BioBizz LightMix soil, 20L Airpot
Feeds : BioBizz Grow & Bloom.
Schedule : 24 constant
Area : 50 x 50 x 180 Stealth Cab

Planting, Germinating with the LED, seed straight into soil.

Day 7 and Temps are really low, the poor seedling is yellow. A low wattage heater has been ordered!
But for now a bottle top will do

Heaters in, 400W Frost Heater, Temps are still low but manageable and she is now looking a lot better, lovely and green and growing rapidly.

Overall Yield = 113 Grams.

Not bad at all for such a low powered LED, plus the poor seed went through hell at its beginnings, definitely worth further testing when its a lot hotter.
Perfect for summer growing & stealth as it is absolutely silent.

Well done to IrishGypsy for putting up with Temp checking & caring for this plant all the way through this grow, now that's dedication!

Yeah those PP panels are some of the best on the market........ top bin emitters.

Really nice job for autos. Is their a reason why you don't do photos?

Cheers man, Autos are fairly new & plus they don't care how much light they get, less chance of turning hermy, less hassle really. more resilient to the cold aswell.
And they seem to be more popular for indoor growers, size issues, its a right git when you veg you plant for too long and it out grows ya cab/tent

Autos don't do that, they start growing literally in the flowering stage,

But, I do like Photos aswell, so im gonna give them a go next, got a lovely Purple Haze #1 Feminised from Positronics Seeds. The originators of that strain back in the 60's.
Just deciding what LED to bung over it.
I will veg it at 24/0 aswell, so might aswell bung some autos in with it, until its ready to turn over. 12/12. Then again I could still finish off the autos on that schedule aswell.

Loads of possibilities. Love it.

I agree that autos have some positives like running perpetual in one room/cold room conditions (lights on most of the day)/multiple outdoor harvests.

But the big negatives are what hold me back to try them again. That auto gene doesn't come from the best source / using double the electricity for less yield&potency than the photo version/it will flower when it wants! Doesn't care if it's three inches high, over fertilized, deficient, terrible room conditions, etc......you will yield shit because you have no control or room for error.

Still boggles my mind how they recommend autos for beginners, yikes.

TBH I wouldn't even do fems if I want room constraint.

Yeah I totally agree with you on all points, that's why I like Autos. I like a challenge.
