Plant problem :/

Hey could use some advice please :)

Started these off germing at 1/10/14 we now on the 13/11/14 and they aint going anywhere :/

i did originally have a temp prob over 85f rh was around 54% but i countered that got more fans drilled more hole ect ect and got it to sit at a comfortable 79.1f 48% rh

im using an unknown soil all i know is its organic and promoted for young seedlings flower pots ect

drainage seems pretty good as when watering within seconds theres run off.

i have no ph meter myself and cannot check any off that at the moment but ive had a friend test tap water thats been left on the side for 4+days and its reading 6.9ph

heres a brief run down:

after temp problems i removed the really dead leaves and was left with a health looking green plant. since then i noticed slight yellowing from middle out and read up that because they where about 4 weeks to start feeding nutes.

i know the next parts my problem most prob but here we go fed them under 5ml of mg all purpose in 5 litres of water didnt give them it all just untill i saw run off said to give 25ml on bottle.

the pics below have literally just been flushed im not sure if it is nutes hence why im here asking but i figured id flush em anyways just incase ive waited untill the soil was completely dry for a day before doing this tonight.

one is in a 1.5lt pot and the other 2lt

i give the 1.5lt below 5lts of left on the side 4 day old tap water

and the 2lt below had just over 6lts of the same.

Thank you

using Cfls 23w 27k 1450lumens per bulb did have 8 of them in there but couldnt get temps to drop below 85f so removed 2 bulbs problem never seemed to correct even when heat was down and air flow up so i removed a few more lights im currently just using 2 bulbs a plant at the moment in the hope that it would help them back to life did have them about 1 inch from plant tops but have reduced that to about 4 inch just incase it was to close

only thing i can come up with is heat/light stress but ive since kind of rectified this and its still happening as you can see on the newest leaf set tips

and the other thing that the net keeps throwing up is lack of magnesium but ive nothing around to sort htis i dont think the mg i have doesnt list it either only something called manganese ? this the same thing?

Looks like you are burning them with nutes.

Stop feeding them anything but ph'd water for a while and see if they bounce back.

And get a soil that you know what is in it. If that stuff is loaded with EWC, Blood meal, guano, etc... you could be feeding them when they are already running hot and it looks like a deficiency when in fact you are burning them.

I'm not saying organic soil is bad... it's great when used properly. But you have to know what you are using to work with it properly.

Keep it simple.

they look way to small to need feeding

Maybe a tiny bit of root grow or some micro nutes

Plants in a good side bit of soil should not need any nutes till they have 4 good side adult leaves but you can use some plant start or root feed if you feel the need

Hopefully they bonce back and start growing fast

Those plants aren't even 2" tall... let them start growing before thinking they have a deficiency, lol.

I run Happy Frog soil, and I don't even feed my plants in veg unless they are literally dying for it. Give them enough good soil, and I promise you are fine until flower unless you have a really hungry N-eater. Just ph'd water, calmag, and maybe a shot of molasses. That's about all they need if they are in healthy soil until you are ready to flower.

Unless of course you plan on vegging for 15 weeks and growing a 7 foot sasquatch of a plant. Then of course, you will need to be giving grow nutes. But just for a regular plant to get maybe 6"-12" tall and throw into 12/12? Naaaah.

Pretty small to be feeding them anything in a medium that already has nutrients in it

Yep my money is on over fertilization = burn + some overwatering + not enough light = sad plants

thanks for clearing it up :)

2" after 44 days ^^ lol im half tempted to chuck em and start again what with the heat issues in the begginging and now this.

if i did re run care to clear a few things for us.

box is 4 sq ft for pure grow space i was planing 2 plants 4 x 23w 27k 1.5k lumens a plant (total 92w 6k lum )

with all lights/fans/ect setup and on an 18/6 cycle temps run a low of 73f 58rh% and max of 87f 43rh% ambiant outside box is no more than 70f

the max to hot?

the best i can do it 6 lights topping 81f 48rh%

if im looking for the ideal between 75-78 then im reduced to 4-5 lights

i was thinking about a small cool mist humidifier would this drop temps with all lights? would it effect lights?

im going to order feeds now so i know im using half decent stuff as well as happy frog soil so thanks yokel for that

i know in flowering i should increase the lights to as much as poss

but during veg? and seedling? how much should i be using maybe in terms of plant hight?

and how close? ive read 1" from plant tops to stop stretch ect and no more then 8" because of light penetration but these cfls do get hot to touch

all i have to work with is 8x 23w 27k 1.5k lumens

cheers guys

Your lights are fine for vegging. Although I would suggest using 6400k CFLs for your vegging and a mix of 2700k and 6400k for flowering.

I run 300w of CFL for six plants in my tent. I have 200w of 2700k and 100w of 6400k.

In your box I would start with four 6400k for vegging, and when you swap to flower, use four 2700k and two 6400k. You want the blue spectrum to help with resin production. Trust me.

I use a cold-air humidifier in my tent, but I am also in the Mojave Desert, literally one of the driest and literally THE hottest place on the planet, so I actually need the humidity it produces also, lol. Double bonus.

In your tent I would say it would be fine as long as you don't get over 40-45% humidity in flower. I like low humidity. Like. Low. I stay around 25-30% humidity (not that I can help it much here in the desert, but I like it that way anyways). Seems my plants resin up more in the lower humidity. Could just be my old age thinking its different, who knows.

As for temps, mine stay around 81F. I've forgotten to refill the CAH before, and seen spikes of 91F, and my OGs just keep on trucking... I would never say that temp is ok for growing, but it's weed dude. Keep it around 75-85F and it's fine. Lower is better, but it isn't like climbing from 75F to 81F is going to ruin your cabinet.
