Plant problems help please

Ok so my hydro plant main stem broke if I plant it in new sail will it act like a clone and grow or am I screwed . Need to know ASAP

how tall is the broken piece? pic? helps alot

ITs a crap shoot really.....not sure if I'd put it in bubbling water to make roots or root hormone in soil. I think either way it could potentially rot. Got seed starter soil with humic acid in it? I've put small clones in seed starter with powder/gel and they grew. Just throwin some shit out thar
