Hey guys,
Needing a solution for plant’s health before it could potentially get worse. I’ll give some details and pics of what’s been happening and my opinion on some things I ‘think’ it is.
I don’t want to make it worse giving something that could make it worse or cause another problem.
Days old: Approx 20 days
Humidity: 40-60%
Temperature: 20-29 degrees / 68-84.2 Fahrenheit
Watering: Before transplant every 2-3 days.
Nutes: Only fed 6-7 days ago when in small pots. (1ml) of 13-2-12 in 600 ml water. This because I got stuck with the dreaded slow release fert..... (organic)
Medium is also mixed with 30-40% perlite.
- 7-8 days ago plant had quite a few white flies on it. Was dealed within hours by removing/killing them and then applying organic insectide. 1-2 days later still a few more but basically nothing and no eggs etc. Nothing since then.
- Transplant occurred a bit over 2 days ago from small pots to 3 gal/11 litre fabric pots. Transplant went well. No signs of shock/stress as of yet. Plant still growing. Used same medium. However.. When I saturated the soil in the new plant pot. I added approx 35 ml of organic NPK fert (13-2-12) and mixed in with PH Down to take the PH from 6.9/7.0 to about 6.3. This was in a 9 litre bucket. I then saturated this all throughout 2x3gal/11 litre pots. The medium itself is already fertilised (organic).
This was basically because I wanted to induce bigger growth and the 35ml should see me out of Veg into flower. Not that I wanted it to be this way, it's the only soil I could get. I think I went a bit over board with that feed before transplant. It was distributed between two pots however.
Now the problem is: Yellowing on some lower foliage leaves on 1 plant and rust looking spots. Both increasing in size. This plant also had the most whiteflies on it before dealed with swiftly. A few pics attached.
Plants 10/09/2018 Monday. 1 day before transplant. I didn't get a picture the next day before transplanted but I think its important to note that day was 29 degrees and I had them outside for one last time before bringing inside. Brown/Orange spot appeared before transplant.
Healthy slightly smaller sister yesterday.
Problem sister yesterday. I know it's nothing major but I'd prefer to get in fast to prevent something bigger. Small spot on one of the bigger foliage leaves. Yellowing setting in on same leaf and adjacent lead. Rest of plant looks fine?
Today she seems have yellowed more on those same leaves and spot got bigger and tip near the brown spot has actually gone dark green I think.
Last water was yesterday, very very small. I try my best not to over water and let them dry up.
Instead of watering more, adjusting ph or adding any nutrients etc. I wanted to get a better opinon instead of making it worse/adding another problem.
My rookie research and knowledge believes it could be one of these things:
> Nutrient deficiency
- Calcium (more likely
- Magnesium (more likely)
- Manganese
- Sulfur (less likely)
> White fly damage?
> Soil somehow too acidic in particular spot of soil/near roots?
> PH Lockout due to slow release + organic nutes together. Although only one plant affected/2 leaves so far.
> Fungi > Rust?
> Perhaps nute burn?
I'm not sure and haven't watered or flushed since I gave them a decent water 1-2 days ago when they were transplanted. They seem to have taken well to the transplant I think. Please all opinions welcome, thanks!
EDIT: Sorry just realised the pictures really don't show any thing and I think they look so light green in middle pics due to being directly under CFL. Last picture is accurate for colour. All I know is she is def getting more yellow and that little spot is getting bigger and underside of it darker.
EDIT 2: Applied 5ml of Epsom Salts into 600ml water as foliar spray and small spray around the base of stem. Will water tomorrow and will probably add epsom salts into the water unless things have gotten worse. In that case, I will start to think it's more Calcium/Manganese deficiency or PH related.
