is there any way to get your plants to bud earlier??
If so what are the downsides to it??

if you are indoors you can easily do this, just switch to a 12/12 light cycle, 12hrs light 12hrs dark.

You can also add high Phosphorus fertilizers and that will help it switch to flowering. I use Bud Blood for the first week of flowering.

technically you can start flowering as early as you want. some growers use 12/12 from sprout and eliminate the veg state alltogether. but the longer you veg, the bigger the plant, and bigger plants = bigger buds
