plants stunned by stagnant water..help??

yeaaa...i am a first time grower and i have planted my plants in a 2 gallon pot after a week from germination. i must have not looked at the bottom of the pots becasue i started to notice the soil never drying out. so i push aside some soil after 3 days of not watering ang there was a pool of water filling the hole. i look at the bottom of the pots and realize there is no drainage holes.....idk how the fuck lowes sells them without drainage holes...but i put 4 holes about 1/4 inch in each one and water comes pouring out of each pot. what can i do to get my roots and plants back to growing normally? they look healthy no drooping...or discoloration..... just stunted growth. they are 6 weeks along from beginning of seed to now...only reaching 8 inches tall right now....any way i can get them going again so they can go outside....can post pics if anyone needs them. thanks

cheers!!

what wetdog said^^ you did what you had to do and learned...i hope. Just don't water them until the pot it relatively dry (should be light when you lift it), if its your first time growing you will eventually learn the feel of watering your plants. In my opinion over watering is more harmful then under watering. When you over water, there's absolutely no way the roots can get oxygen to survive and grow.
