Plants too big ! Too little too late ??

I left my critical mass to grow out a little more than I should have done. They're two and a half weeks into flower now and as you can see they're almost touching the lamps in this picture. They're now officially touching the lamps. I've tied them down with string as a result to encourage the side shoots to grow but the growth auxins are obviously concentrated at the tops.

Does anyone have any suggestions that might help in this situation ?

Can you not fix your light hood directly to the ceiling?

By the looks of things that should give you and extra foot or so.

Warmer nights than days slow stretching.

Other than that and tie them down more I’m out of options..

Take something hard, hold it under where you need the break, and supercrop that tall head just below the rest of the canopy.
Tie up or otherwise support the broken stem until it hardens over.

You want to break the structural integrity without breaking the tubes the food and water flows.

bend it, or break it, or tie it, or cut it off, or smash a scrog screen right down over the top of the canopy, press real hard, secure, and step back. no matter but use better planning next cycle to avoid the wonder

Attach the lights to ceiling without the strap hooks then super crop that beast to make an even canopy. Super crop is easy....just pinch and bend. Try to not cover other bud sites.

Eliminate the hooks attaching your hood to the ratchet rope clip. Thread zip ties through the holes instead. Attach the clip to the zip ties. Gain a good 4-5 inches. Combined with supercropping, your height issues should be resolved for the time being.

I took the advice I read above guys. I super cropped the main culprit.

I've strung her up to the ventilation and lights that I raised up as suggested, just in case she puts on weight and ends up kinking over too much.

I've left the other two second largest plants as they are for now, just that I have my eye on one of them as the mother plant and so if I can keep it grown vanilla, it'll make the selection process less murky.

Thanks for the advice
