Hey there guys and gals. I have a question. I have a Gorge Cervantes grow book and it says when you have seedlings you should transplant when they become rootbound.
And it provides pics of seedlings in rockwool with about a half inch of roots on all sides and the bottom sticking out. It says this is when you should transplant.

So my seedlings have sprouted and I got about a half inch of root coming out the bottom, but nothing coming out the sides. The seedlings ARE IN 1" rockwool cubes in a gardening flat. Do I transplant when the roots come out the bottom or do I wait until theres even more roots growing out the sides?

My last batch of seedlings showed roots on the bottom and I kept them in the cubes hoping to transplant when the sides of the cube showed roots, but I ended up overwatering and got root rot. So I dont want to fuck this batch up too.

I fucked my seedling in the arse! They are stunted and full of root rot. Im dumping them and starting over. I saw pics of other peoples plants at this age and their three times the size. Root rots a bitch!

next time make sure the rookwool cubes are sitting on a thick bed of perlite, this makes sure there isnt too much, or too little moisture, but just enough

i had similar probs when i started out, i went to soil in the beginning. it's not bad, helps with the rot, and it's pretty much maintenance free , just daily water.
