try to keep the top 1inch of your medium dry. . This will create a dry zone that wont support infestation. other bugs live in this zone also, fungus gnats, root aphid etc. If they are present in your tank, maybe try azamax in the water. A pic of the bugs would be a good idea, cause some bugs live deeper in the root zone and are unaffected by neem products(azamax etc..

Bit hard to tell but could be THRIPS LARVAE or SPRINGTAILS.

Try a google image search for the 2 i mentioned.

I am battling a fungus gnat problem in my coco chip medium using a 3' x 3' ebb and flow tray top feeding. I used Azamax and gnatrol and they slowed them down but they keep coming back. The only thing that will get rid of them for good are predatory nematodes, good hydro shops will sell them along with Lady bugs they are basically a microscopic ringworm that feeds on the larvae.

I think I had those my last grow. I transplanted into 5 gal containers and didn't water for a week or so due to pre-soaking of the super soil I made. When I finally watered all these little fuckers came out in the drip trays. There were hundreds maybe more in each container. I thought they could be springtales but my yields were low. A guy at the hydro store said they could be root aifids. I couldn't find a good pix either but your pixs look like the same creatures that I had.

I'm telling you guys. Look into these predatory nematodes. Its pretty simple to do you just buy them at the grow store ( most good grow stores will carry them) They are a microscopic organism that feeds on larvae . Mine came in a cup mixed with vermiculite. I had fungus gnats and I used Azamax and gnatrol only to have them come back.

i think i have the same problem. i have been using neem oil and am planning on getting some ladybirds. the neem oil seems to kill them but they come back after a couple of days.
