400w hps
Distilled water

now on my first grow (with cfl's), i never ph'd a thing cause i had no idea what i was doing. i had bad yellowing that spread throughout the plant, but she made it.... now i stepped up to 400w mh/hps. wow what a difference. BUT! 25 days in, i'm starting to see this:

so now i'm going to take the next step in the art of growing. ph'ing my water with nutrients.... my question is.... what the hell do i do??? haha

i THINK i need to add my 1/4 strength tiger bloom, molasses to my distilled water, THEN ph test it... according to my number i ph up or down. great... but what should the number be when i first ph test my nutrient fed water?????

oh, and up to this point, i haven't added any nutes! just distilled water every 3 days. she's an autoflower and shot pistils at day 15, they are huge and everywhere!

I adjust my PH using PH UP and PH Down. I never had to use the PH UP. I mix up all my nutrients in a 2 gallon container and then test the PH. I find that my Veg mix require about 1/2 cc or 50 units on a diabetic syringe. A little goes a long way. With my flowering mix, I need no adjustment at all. I shoot for 6.3-6.5 on the PH meter. Expensive but necessary tool.

okay cool. yeah i have a rapitest ph meter and i was doing some test runs with my distilled water, tiger bloom, and molasses. i found that if add about a teaspoon of lemon juice to my gallon mixture it brings my ph down to 6.5.... sound about right???
