Polishing Hammered Aluminum

Has anyone found a good way to polish a reflector for a hood? I picked up some that had been sitting outside for awhile and they are not as shiny as I would like. I have some rouge and a polishing wheel I was planning on using. Any other ideas?

Autosol metal is a good product, you can use it on the polishing wheel or by hand. If using by hand use microfibre cloths, the get in the dimples better.

I use simichrome on my motorcycle cases and it works well with some 000 steel wool.

I sort of wonder if they are not polished to avoid hot spots. The way it's always discouraged to use aluminum foil on the walls of a grow? I don't know jus a thought I had when I read this. I've got a big reflector, but it's just painted gloss white inside.

The "hammered" surface distributes the reflected light unevenly instead of concentrating it in one location.

Watch for bad voc with certain polishing compounds. You may not smell them with light off, but lights on and the heat, you and your plant surely will notice bad smells of the residual polish.

I will probably run them to warm them up prior to installing them in my grow room to get rid of any residual chemicals.
