Porn

Just about every argument I hear against porn includes the idea that it objectifies women, that when a man watches porn or becomes addicted to porn, he can begin to see women as nothing but sex objects there for his own sexual gratification. I was wondering if this same argument applies for men, and if it doesn't, then why not?

Can women who frequently watch porn or who develop a porn addiction begin to objectify men in the same kind of way?

I think so. I know a few girls who are consumed by their sexual appetite, seeing only 'dick' and 'cash' looking at a guy. It's less common, as women are generally more dictated to by their emotions and men are the default 'chasers'. Also most porn is aimed at men, so likely to be a male POV or focused on audio/visual of a woman. But yeah, you can get girls who would disown you if you didn't have a dick like the perfectly trimmed big black guy she saw. I also have a hypersexed friend who watches too much porn whose boyfriend called up, distraught, because she smacked him a bit to basically rape him because she didn't care how, she wanted a dick inside her. Now alot of people are going to say 'who'd complain about that??', which would highlight a difference in the mentality between men and women.

But generally most girls seem to be too demure or focused on looking for a partner and I know alot of men who admit they are/will be single for many years so they can screw as many girls as possible without worrying, or outright told me they couldn't be bothered to have a relationship when they could have any kind of girl on their computer who won't complain, won't spend their money and will leave when they're done etc.

I'll admit, even someone who complains about objectification like me, I worry about finding myself becoming shallow or picky with men, the more idealized images of them are available. Beggars can't be choosers though, I can't get anyone I want to skeep with ne...To be honest though, I spend my time looking at women much more. I limit my viewing of erotica and tasteful nudes (I contribute to the Noodz thread) but as I browse it becomes like you're browsing products in a store. I worry I'll stop seeing a whole woman and just see tits and ass. Even worse when you start comparing or thinking 'I'd like this one with that one's ass' or something like that. For the most part I think I've managed to avoid that kind of objectification-I hope so, so It doesn't feed into normal woman-bitchiness.

Ooh, but as much as I like to see gay emo boys at it, it's a bit worrying how many girls befriend these guys and push them to go on camera for them, taking pictures to gain favour with their friends. Women be pimping. Part of me things we should be able to do it too, and part of me feels awful for the guys (even though they seem up for it alot of the time) and it should be left to the guys to seek out tasteful exposure themselves like model Alex Mckee who takes pictures with his boyfriend, entertaining ladies and men worldwide. Or Adam Lambert who frequently posts his sexy pictures with boys and girls alike.

It's really up to the user to decide what effect it has, in my experience. I find that I objectify women if I WANT to, and porn or not, that will be true. However, when I feel a loving respect for the natural beauty of the human form, I find "porn" to not even really BE porn so much as just beautiful pictures of God's most beautiful creation. And I get turned on by that. I prefer "sexy, beautiful women" over "traditional" porn, ie, fucking videos and pics.

Women are amazing creatures. I am naturally aroused by their form.

The worst thing I've found about this is that I sometimes find myself acting far too preferential about it, which I will sometimes self-judge as a discrimination manifesting through my tastes. But I'm just attracted to healthy looking creatures, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Pornography or porn is the explicit portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual arousal and erotic satisfaction..........................so if they get sexually arroused (yes) and get erotic satisfaction ( depends on who your with/thinking about)........................... then the answer is..............................put me in a room with a large screen projector, a pile of porn with various settings and plots, 15 women ( good lookin ones ) and get back to me in a week................:hump::hump::hump::hump::hump:

They're useful for something else?

What's the point; your dick is stuck too far down your throat to eat it.

This is what I've learned so far: people are all full of shit. Fuck all of you. The nice and patience has now all been knocked out of me.

what about gay man porn then? there are no women in gay porn, so who is being objectified? anyone? is it only objectification when it's a woman? does gay porn cause men to look at other men differently then they did before the porn?

as a somewhat related sidenote, about half the lesbians i know prefer to watch straight porn over girl on girl porn.

people (men and women) like porn because it makes them horny, period. no one watches porn for the artistic experience (maybe for comedic or shock value). as long as everyone is getting paid and is of sound mind when they sign on, and no laws are broken, i don't see what the problem is.

"porn addiction" has little to do with the porn itself and everything to do with the individual viewing it. objectification is no different.

Ding ding ding.

It's not the porn, it's the individual's choice to treat other people with respect or not. Porn or not.

Hahaha.

People are totally full of shit. But you don't have to give up your heart to them, Kuroi. Lose faith in others, but not in your self. You are eternal. Burn on.

I am having a rough morning myself. Irritable as fuck. Probably ate too much last night. And I had such an amazing illuminating weekend, too. MONDAYS... >XP

A trick I use is, think that everyone on the internet is a troll, liar, instigator, etc. I makes it much easier to read forums.

I could tell you that I have house, a new car, great job and a beautiful wife(physically and personality), but I doubt anyone would even believe me.
