I don’t know about that I’ve always had big yields when I do and smaller yields when I don’t. It’s not something I go around recommending but it works for me when I do it my buds are always a lot tighter and when I don’t the buds are airy I think it has to do with my leds not putting off enough light to get to the bus sites. I have currently upgraded though to two 1000 watt de yield lab ballast so this run I will not defoliate.

I'll believe it when I see a few sets of clones side by side with one defoilated and one not.

Science doesn't back it up. I've read many studies on various crops and in controlled studies yield is not gains. Some will show very slight gains with one or two leaves removed but all showed reduced yields after that.

Any light that hits the ground is wasted light. Fan leaves are what drive the plant. They store nutrients. A full canopy collects every bit of available light and plenty of stores for the plant.

Claim what you want. I've tried it and didn't gain anything. Only hurt yield.

There are times to trim a bit. Either due to lack of air flow and risk of mold or removing slight undergrowth at times.

I'm sure they look bigger with less leaves.

Your soil was too rich and they had nitrogen toxicity and general lockout issues due to nitrogen abundance imo. I would mix it with 50/50 with a lighter or an unfertilized mix next time.

Your initial statement is that lactobacillus will sort bad drainage and increase aeration whilst killing all the bad stuff created by having bad aeration and drainage in the first place....

Funny that since no individual strain mentioned here has ever had that capability, care to be more indepth than such a broad statement?

Don’t really know if it will better the drainage but it will kill bad bacteria. Its what it does. It just outcompetes everything and its a facultative anaerobe so it works well in both environments.

This anaerobe.... dose it have a more precise name or are you just grouping some lacto strains and assuming?

Again i read teaming with microbes so bring it greenie :-)

Archaic method of growing, no other form of horticulture employs the method of defoliation yet in the world of cannabis this is very popular for what ever reason is beyond me...Why strip the very things that produce energy for the plant!

Some people think that the parts of the plant responsible for the energy needed for flowering takes away from the flowers. It's a messed up way of thinking but people do.

My first run at making super soil ended up with yellow plants. I didn't cook it long enough for the amendments to break down and I probably used too much guano and bone meal which both have significant amounts of phosphorous. I'm back to coco and chemicals for a few grows while I let another batch sit for a good long time. I have much respect form the people dialing in their super soil grows.
