possible to use "warm" CFLs for veg and flowering?

I am a first timer and I want to do this as chaep as possible. I already bought 4 40w CFLs that are cool light and realize I need more lumens.

Instead of buying more cool whites to go through veg, I was wondering if it is possible to add warm whites for the rest of my vegging and go into flowering with my four cool whites and additional warm whites?? This would save me $$ on the operation.

For my space, according to the faq, I need to increase my lumen output by about 4800 lumens, opinions and experiences welcomed.

yep, that will do.
How many plants; and how much space you got?

If you have not already you need to go to the newbie forum and let everyone know you are here.

I'm finishing my first grow and used the warm cfls throughout and seem to be doing pretty good. My plants aren't as bushy as others but are flowering nicely now. My next grow will consist of 18-24 cfls using the LST method over 10 ladies using 756 square inches of space. I'll be keeping a detailed journal.

ill take a look at your journal. I will consult you and constant with any cfl questions I should run into.

right now I have 4 10w and 2 42w cfls totaling over 7000 lumens, which by site posting standards should be sufficient, however I have them over 11 seedlings so I am not exactly sure.

that previous post about 4 40w was erroneous, I misread the label which said 10w cfl = 40w icd.

so i added two more of those 45 watters... too much, or too close or something. some leaf tips were yellowing, and temperature became too much to control. I had to split them into two pairs to reduce the temp and increase the humidity to normal.

I must admit that my venting and fan are practically nonexistent in both boxes, but both seem to be better this way and most importantly have stopped the signs of heat burn on the leaves.
