How bout this? using a highly reflective material (95%) with a mix of all the colors of the spectrum made into a hood. (they do sell extremely reflective colored sheets in every color) you could cut each colored peice into long thin strips and connect them all making a colorful hood...
 
its a good idea. but the thing with the colors is the spectrum that the light is emitting. reflection of a colored hood isnt the same as the light spectrum
 
the point is to try to emit different colors on the plant... possibly stimulating it a different way.. you could even try using single colors to see how the weed reacts to different colors. It could possibly tint the bud or make the plant produce more thc/cbd or a series of other things...
 
dont think it would change the color or thc/cbd. although colors emit different energies and vibrations. so it might alter the high of the smoke :)
 
Thinking outside of the box, i like that. Experiment a bit. Why dont you just try it out and see the outcome of it? Start a thread on it taking notes and giving feedback. Who knows, maybe it is a breakthrough!
 
It would seem to me that certain colors would absorb the spectrum that the plants need for growth.

well... You would only be reducing overall light of all spectrum's and reducing certain colors more than others.
The plant, as with all life, evolved to grow under certain conditions. Humans have forced their own selective evolution of the plant to make it better in various ways. You can improve those conditions by increasing good things, decreasing bad things and get better results. It's hard to see how this could be an improvement in any way as you would be reducing good things.
Perhaps using bulbs that put out certain colors more than others would be better but then again that's pretty much what everyone does....
 
I want this for tripping on acid , wouldn't help the plants tho, the white light contains all colors already, no need to filter out others (that's what you would be doing)

yeah, but if your using hps or soft white fluorescent for flowering it only emits a certain spectrum and lays more heavily on the reds and oranges which the plants love during flowering. So what if you were to use a blue or something to take out all the colors the plants dont like during flowering that the hps or fluorescent may give off...

This is bad information. Wrong wrong wrong. Have you ever taken a physics class? or even watched mr. wizard or bill nye as a kid??

Adding something to the hood to reflect different pretty colors will only REDUCE overall light ouput as some will be absorbed by whatever material you use. Also any color of light that you can get out of the light is already being emitted by the bulb- you just cant see it. Try holding a prism to the light and you will see how the different colors of light come out to play.

its really simple physics, something more indoor gardeners need to learn.

I understand what you're saying but what if there is one of the colors it doesn't like or take well too.. you could possibly take that color out... I totally understand what your saying and I know in order to have color, it needs to be absorbed into the object through light.... what I'm saying is, what if there is a bad color in the bulbs you use for flowering. Or even vegging. The plants want way more redder colors during flowering with much less K... possibly using a color to take out any unnecessary/ strenuous light on the plant could help it...
 
Why are leaves green? Because they are already reflecting parts of the spectrum they need least.

Why do plants like red/orange light during flowering? Because the sun appears redder in autumn/winter when it is low on the horizon.

Emulate nature, my friend, and your plants will reward you.
 
i see what you're saying ziggy
basically LED's do what you're thinking.
get LED's strong enough and they do the exact thing you're thinking ideally.
There's nothing special about LED grown weed it seems.
I use some LED's with CFL's
Keep thinking of some good ideas
