POST your photos of medicating outside in Alaska

It ain't always easy medicating outside in Alaska, what with the weather and cold and laws and all, but we're an enterprising group for sure and we find ways to get the job done. We also burn our meds amid super awesome grandeur and wildness, a recipe that comes together so perfectly! So I'm starting a thread for anyone to post pix of where they're getting baked and medicated. Faces aren't required but they gotta be taken outside okay? (I'll admit, I'm partly inspired by a shot of one of y'all's asses up on a hill above the Denali Highway a few months back...)

So... Where you puffin, Alaska?!

I'll start it off, Here's my bowl, full of ground C-99/GSC flowers, high above Resurrection Bay yesterday. Winds up to 50mph were challenging, but once lit kept the bowl cherry... (Max Security prison across the bay in the background LOL!)

A summit bowl of Chernobyl...

I've got a loved one in that Shit hole of a prison.

Sorry to hear that. We burn driftwood/party over there on 4th of July beach, so I'll keep sending clouds that way.
On the shores of Resurrection Bay on my lunch break today. A bowl of Green Crack, a fem freebie from seed harvested in Aug. A couple months later its becoming great smoke.

That is EXACTLY what happens behind my house... ive come out in the morning to the weirdest shit... crazy alaskan drunks! Thats why weed should be legal! I wont burn myself to death in a backyard bonfire accident!! Lmao

PIX OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN... Bring it!

Ever play that disc golf course up at Peter's Creek, just north of Chugiak?

That is one hallway of a course, sliced through a hella dense birch forest, mostly on xc ski trails. I threw mostly pars and +1s, also a +4(!) and 1 birdie. Fun course if you're feeling accurate but punishing if you're not.

Anyway I was up there last weekend, sure enough it was raining... so we had the place to ourselves. Good thing we had with us some Girl Scout Cookies to keep us warm, or some Attitude freebie that was called GSC but would most undoubtedly be known as something else to someone else.

Whatever. Its dank ass weed, and does the job just fine.

What, you sourdoughs live up here but don't make a point of obscuring Alaska's spectacular scenery with big ass clouds of exhaled cannabis? The horrors!

Must I open this thread to the indoor medicator?

Puffing on the summit, on the river, at the fire, Alaska blowin up in all directions! Ganja smoking inspiration if there ever was!

Anyway this expando exhale is blazing any remaining spiders in the cold-ass lookout bunker at the abandoned Fort McGilvray at Caines Head on Resurrection Bay last winter. The sun's going down, its 20 degrees and we're 2.5 miles from our state rental cabin cabin. The first mile of the trail is glazed in hard ice, that's covered in 6" of dusty fluffy snow. We're cold after an all day hike in the snowstorm and ready to get the hell back to the cabin. In other words... sativa time! Good thing we were packing some C99... and lil foot crampons. We strolled across the crunchy ice and were back at the cold cabin before we knew it.

I'm usually too busy with my two boys (8 and 5) to snap a pic of me burnin'.... you caught a glimpse of my last outing without the kids ("moons over my hammy").... I'm a certified rock climb and belay technician so we get "up there" if ya catch my drift! Next outing is (hopefully) an ice climb with my oldest boy... We're talkin cramp-ons, buddy ropes, and ice picks, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get any pics as I'm sure my hands will be full... Rest assured though, there's always at least a doobie to burn on the peak!

Very cool that you get out with your boys and make the most of Alaska's wilds together. I just moved to Anchorage from the Kenai last week, and today my sweetie and I headed up the fun but icy trail to Flattop Mtn. What a great next-to-town getaway! Its literally right there ,10 minutes from our home. Great views of course of Redoubt, Spurr and the Tordrillos. Susitna was perfectly half-covered in a blanket of white. Stealing the show though was Denali, Foraker and Hunter! Seriously WTF. I was blown away by their massiveness. I've seen them from town but its a totally different perspective up there.

We were glad to have cleats on the boots... and this tightass nug of 8-month-old Bubblegummer to burn once we got to the snow-covered summit


Love this place, can't wait til its open toke... everywhere... there's plenty to share...

This isn't a shot of medicating outside in AK, but it is a shot of a cathartic experience I had yesterday. And I did smoke some dankass nugs as part of the process so Im gonna allow it.

This is the releasing of my great old dog's ashes to the wind, high in the Chugach Mountains above Anchorage. He was a great dog, he was 6 weeks old and football-sized when I got him but quickly blew up to a solid 110 pounds. Yes a giant but very aware of his size. A real playboy, but protective as hell. Still the most motherly mothers at potlucks immediately knew their little ones were safe with his giant ass, even safer for his being around. Many claimed their dog was his girlfriend, he would tolerate them all.

But he and I were a team, charging the hills year-round together, for a solid decade+, skiing and hiking and poking about the high alpine of Montana, where we used to live. He didn't care if I was tripping balls, it was all good. So he even got his own homemade deer/elk jerky, from a butchering pile between the "To Grind" pile (small stuff good for human consumption) and the "Garbage" pile. His jerky might have blood/grass/hair/dirt, but jesus it was plenty better than the stuff I'd see him scavenge anyway. All who knew Huckleberry along the way loved him and knew him as one of the greats. Sniff.

But he's been gone a few years now and I'm tired of hiking and skiing without a damn good dog charging by my side. Plus my house is way too clean. Its time to find a new companion. Anyone got a line a good dog? The bar is high but we're pretty open breed-wise. S/he's gotta be warm-coated, strong enough to climb/ski, reasonably open to training and not too much of a wuss or asshole. Gotta be able to hand a lil sidestream smoke! Ha. Seriously, I'm a hands-on trainer, willing to put a lot of effort into the process but I really don't want to end up with anything shy of a damn good dog.

Sorry I spaced gettin back to you on this Frozen, and thanks for the offer to connect on the dog. You're a late night guy and by the time I read your posts I'm typically already three sheets. Half the time I space reading it at all.

Anyway It looks like we've found a dog we want, and if all the paperwork goes through we'll have him in a week. He's a 100# one-year-old Lab with a lot of energy and what looks like a real big heart. Seems hella trainable and smart (for a lab!) too. Soon as they cut off his balls he moves in, and I'll be sure to get a pic up of him. We're looking for a name, I'm thinking Haze or Eddie or Blanco at this point...

Fat bowl of JTR on the summit of Near Point in Chugach SP on Dec 21, the shortest day of the year! Only getting longer now...


The trail to the summit was too icy so we went up through moosey meadows and alder thickets. The berries were as thick as I've ever seen, vast carpets that were multiple-berries deep!

Two week's in now and the new dog's exactly what we were looking for. Meet Budsy!

Where the hell is winter.

Skiing is still not worth a shit here in ANC so hiking with spikes and poles has been the half-ass filler activity. Couple days ago we caught the late afternoon full moonrise up Bird Ridge in Chugach SP. Cold as hell, we cranked up/down 3100' , car-to-car in 2.5 hrs. For us that's fast but we wished we were skiing POW instead.

Wind was rippin above treeline but fat bowl after fat bowl of Jack the Ripper kept the fires stoked. This pic's at 2500', we made it higher ahem but winds at our turnaround were too bitter to get the lighter fired up or the gloves off.

This JTR is my first real keeper and I've a helluva revegged mother, she's ready to drop 40 clones any day but I've no place to flower em! First time I've ever had a problem like that LOL!
