pot size question

I want to start growing indoors and want to know, how big of a pot should I use per plant to grow in if I veg the plants for 8 weeks under 1000w MH then completely flower them under 1000w HPS? I know it all depends on the strain and how big it gets but I would like to know wheter I shout buy 3.5 gallon pots or 5 gallon pots.

I think you need 3 different sizes. 4in at two weeks after cutting from mothers. 1.5 gal. two-three weeks later. 5gal about 2-3 weeks later. Veg another 3 weeks and flip.
When you go to a large (5gal) pot too soon after cutting, the roots have a tendency to go straight to the edges of the pot, then down and around. You'll see at harvest that the majority of the soil (center) has no roots. Big waste of capacity.
Gradually working your way up to final size encourages the roots to fill the whole pot. More roots, more bud.
