Pot vs Ground for autoflowers. +rep to all

So I just odered an Afghan Kush ryder several days ago. It shipped on the 14th so i expect it to come by the end of the week. My question is, should i plant them into the ground or into a 5 gal pot. Right now, I have a raised bed/container garden sorta thing. It is filled about 1 foot deep of tilled soil then goes straight into the ground so its basically just a raised bed but with no ending bottom. if that makes any sense. My plants should finish by the end of august and it tends to get a little chilly and rainy in august, should I plant them into the 5 gal bucket so I can take them inside and move them around on our shitty days and nights? I have been told that ground will beat pots anytime no matter what. I never really have to water my plants bcause I get sometype of percipitation at least once a week. Thanks, + rep to all helpers.

well pots will allow you to move your plants and manage each one individually for water/feeding. i would use pots and just make sure they are big enough. the bigger the better but a 5 gallon will do. i know plenty of people that use 5 gallons and never have a issue but then i see people using stuff like 95 gallon smart pots and shit and it just makes me scratch my head and ask why when i know the price of my soil lol

You are growing an autoflower. You're worried about weather in August, so you must be in a northern latitude, so right now your having 15 hrs of sun a day or more. With an auto you need 12/12, the sun can be the light, but dark is more important. So I'd grow in a pot to be able to move, or make a tent over it to limit light.

thanks dude but Im actully at 61 degrees north lat. I will be having 20 hours of direct sunlight and 4 hours of light until mid september so Im not really worried about light.
Edit: It never gets "dark" out. I can read a book at 2 oclock in the morning outdoors.

You will be fine growing in 5 gallon pots. Much easier to move them if need be. Do you ever get hail? Would destroy your girls very fast IMO.

Much easier controlling nutes when they start to flower.

Huh? Autos don't need 12/12. Don't need any darkness really, lots of folks grow on 24/0

you obviously dont understand what I am asking. Please re-read and answer with something useful.
i would choose the 5 gal pot purely becoz of pest control and like if it rains you can put them inside no problem, ground does have its advantages but pot tend to be easier.. either way theres only so much you can yield from an auto and a 5 gal pot is about the limit.. if that made any sense :eyesmoke:
