Powdery mildEEW???

Hey what's going on? Keeping it short this question has been asked a million times just want to know what people are using for powdery mildew? I need something I can use through flower as a preventative measure but also to get rid of it. I've never seen it until now and am stressing.i also have 4 plants going into flower this week. I'm heading to the The grow shop today can anybody give me some suggestions? Thanks alot! Much appreciated!!

Where are your temps and RH at? At this stage, you are more limited in what you can do to treat PM because the flowers will take on the flavor of whatever you spray on them. I would probably stick with citric acid or potassium bicarbonate at this point-they work by throwing the PH that PM can survive in way out of range either too low (citric acid) or too high (bicarbonate.) A lower dose of citric acid will work for PM than if you were using it to treat spider mites-a lot of commercial PM products that use citric acid use a .05% dilution, so if you want to try that at the lower end of the effective range, you would add .5 grams (500 mg) per liter of water. Add a couple of drops of dishsoap to that to break the surface tension, and spray the plant thoroughly. If you need to go higher, you could start with 1 g per liter as well, but just know that this treatment could damage your pistils, especially at higher concentrations. If I were you, I would do it anyway-you don't want to smoke mildewy bud. Also, consider a post harvest bud wash with citric acid as well. You can buy it at walmart, some grocery stores/hardware stores, in the section with canning supplies. To avoid this problem in the future, get a dehumidifier and set it at 50% RH, and increase the air circulation within your tent. Be sure you have fans above and below the canopy moving air-every leaf on the plant should have slight movement from the breeze. Clean your tent from top to bottom after this grow cycle with citric acid as well-make it much stronger than you would use on the plant-I use 2 teaspoons per liter of water for cleaning. Consider a weekly IPM spray during the veg cycle of your future grows as well-neem oil, Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide, yucca extract-these are all good things to use and alternate in your weekly sprays (during VEG only) in the future.

Thanks a lot I'm taking all that into consideration for sure. So I have a nice dehumidifier but it's been so hot out that it still heat up my grow room even with the air conditioning on full blast. I think the main reason this happened is because I'm playing musical plants with this flowering plant. I have four plants in veg right next to it so at night time I've been putting it in a grow tent on the other side of the room. I have an exhaust and fans running in the black out tent but humidity still is high. I've had high humidity in flowering and never had this problem I'm guessing it's probably from putting it in the tent at night but the other plants are going into flower this week so I'm not going to have to do that anymore.

both are just overpriced citric acid products. There are some great products for treating PM that contain essential oils, such as Growers Ally-Crop Defender 3-but I'd never use it during the flowering stage because that's all you'll taste in those buds.

I fell for lost coast once way back. It works but not any better than most other stuff. Read the label and justify 150-200 a gallon…..

Started using Growsafe a couple months ago and I don’t have any issues anymore.. won’t turn your pistils brown either.

Citric acid products like NukEm or Dr Zymes. Both are OMRI and can be used up until harvest. You'll want to do a budwash regardless of what you use. Keep in mind that you more than likely won't eradicate it without a complete and thorough cleaning of the grow area regardless of what you use as there are going to be spores all over the grow area.

I was just talking about those 2 to someone right before I looked at this. Have you had success with killing and ridding plants with this stuff?

Yes i prefer lost coast but both work ya they cost but what iam saving cost a lot more than a couple hundred. An they are both omri

I use the Amazing Dr Zymes for citric acid and I have an AIRRos machine that puts out hydrogen trioxide which kills PM in the air and on surfaces, works really well.

I dont like essential oils on my buds taste like what ever oil was used, the lost coast can be used well into flower without leaving a taste.

I was thinking that it could possibly be this dirty vent that was right next to the plant. I had the vent closed but my in line and air conditioner was pulling air from it I felt it. So I clogged it up with a piece of panda film. I don't like that there's carpet in the room either so much s*** is going to get stuck in there and when I vacuum it probably just sprays spores and whatnot everywhere

Al B Fuct reccomended using a sulphur burner, this was a long time ago though so I’m not sure if this is still a preferred method. Other than that I don’t have any advice as pm is something I’m yet to come across. Hope u get it sorted mate!

Are you filtering the intakes into the tent?

You have carpet in your room too so stuff like that will retain mold spores and it's just a waiting game for 1 of those spores to go airborne and propagate a leaf. I would get some heavy duty carpet cleaner and really steam wash the floor, wash walls with bleach water solution and as others have said filter your intake on your tent.

CLEANLINESS will prevent PM both air/surfaces being clean. If you have boxes, carpet, fabrics, furnitures, board games even they can grow PM and all it takes is 1 spore to hit a leaf and grow more then poof airborne and you have a repeat issue.

Don't make the mistake of only treating the plants you need to treat EVERYTHING or it will just keep coming back unless you spray some seriously toxic systemic fungicides.

I had to get a storage unit for all the shit in my basement so I could literally make it spotless. Painted walls white with block sealer, bleach mopped floors and used a Hudson fogger with zerotol solution to fog the ceilings and all my fans etc. IT's stabilized h2o2 it converts back to water and oxygen once it dries. It will also annihilate any living bugs on your plants. Just remember it's not a preventitive and if you plan to do spraying or fogging wear a N95 respirator..

No im not, but thank you for this graph, I can use this, I just realized too that I just moved into this house and haven't used the heat yet, invoked at the furnace and there's no filter in that, I may try some type of filter maybe even secure one to the back of a box fan and put it in the room like a diy laminar flow hood. I have a 6" inline above all the lights exhausting air out the window and an air-conditioner in the other window. Also have a nice smart cube dehumidifier but right now it's it heats the room up too much maybe I'll set it so it only kicks on once in a while to filter air. Also have a 6" booster fan that's exhausting the tent, I could set that up and put a little filter on that also. I gotta lay something down over the carpet too. I never had any issues with any kind of mildew fungus or bugs so I didn't think about any of this and now I'm overthinking

Yeah I'm going to definitely do some cleaning and try to find something to throw over the carpet but after this grow is done I'm tearing everything down and not starting again till I have everything set up the way it should be. I had my tent setup with seeds sprouted before I even had all my shit moved in my house lol. I'm pretty new to growing and I guess looking at the glass half-full this is a good lesson in patience. I've only been growing for a couple years so have only 4 under my belt, you know how it is. I'm turning into Johnny f****** Appleseed. LOL good thing I didn't try to do any outside at the same time my head would really be spinning. I'd love to grow outside here but we really don't have the weather for it but I don't know how people do it I'd be worried about everything
