PPM jumped to 1980!!! Why?

I missed one day of checking my PPM and I thought I was seeing things this morning when it was reading 198 x 10!! I noticed the water was a little low and added 3 gallons of PHed waster and it was back to 1100 PPM. Why did this happen and is adding the water ok now or do I need to change my res? My before ph was 6.1 and now its 5.8.

From the reading I've done, The water went down, but no nutes were used by the plant, that increased the concentration of nutes in the remaining water. By adding water you diluted it back down to 1100. Do the plants look healthy? Are the leaves curled up? yellowing on tips? Did you just up your ppm recently? what were you normally running at? someone with more knowledge will be able to take it further. I would guess a nute lock out for some reason. GL

Ok that make sense. Im running the Lucas Formula and have had great results. The plants look fine other than a few spots on some of my huge fan leaves. Its only been this way for a day so hopefully it all good now. I try to keep it between 1100 and 1300 as Im in my 1st week of flower now. Thanks + rep

I only check pH once a day but I check water level twice a day for just that reason.

Thanks man. I have learned so much from you. Im about to order that little $40 air pump from discount hydro you like.

When these guys get big, they really drink the water. Should slow down a little now as I just killed my 2 best looking plants, they turned out to be males.

IS knows his shit. I ordered one of those air pumps as well. I'm liking the lucas formula too. Very easy.
