but, i'm pretty lost when it comes to nutrients and how to properly use them. i tried looking for a dummies guide to nutrients on this forum, but to no avail, unfortunately. i'm really hoping someone can help me out and answer my questions. if there is a thread that breaks it down, and someone posts it for me, i will be eternally grateful and i will delete this thread. (if members even have that privilege on this board.) here we go!

i've been adding nutrients to my bucket of water (its a gallon of water) and feeding them that way.. i've just been pouring them into the pot and thats the end. but whenever i look for specific feeding charts, they ask for reservoir specifics... huh? i'm just very confused. i still have yet to find a feeding chart that can help me for how frequently to water the plants. i measure out a teaspoon of bloom/micro or grow/micro and put it into the water. am i doing anything incorrectly?

my plants are the main reason why my use of nutrients is being questioned.. the older/bottom leaves are yellowing/burningish/falling off.

also, is using fertilizer required when growing?

again, i'm sure these threads are infuriating but i'm in desperate need of help from experts. please and thanks.

only use the grow intell the plant starts too flower then use bloom....the resivor stuff is talking about people that grow hydro. you sound like your in soil...use less than it says on the bottle for container plants and work your way up. sounds like your plants have a n def....... fertilizer a good thing in your soil...if you have the right organic mix you dont even need bottled nutes

i'm using the soilless organic mix - it contains perlite and a plethora of other ingredients that are commonly used for mediums.

use less than it says on the bottle for container plants and work your way up. sounds like your plants have a n def....... fertilizer a good thing in your soil...if you have the right organic mix you dont even need bottled nutes

well i just put them into flowering so should i pump up the nutrients? theyve been in veg since february or so. so should i use more nutrients? is fertilizer necessary?

if you have a well balanced soil, you really don't "need" any ferts. your plant will grow to maturity, and complete its cycle.
i feed a couple times in veg, and a couple of times in flower. i top-dress once or twice also. cannabis certainly doesn't need all the expensive bullshit that some try to force-feed it with.

If your using a soilless potting medium then your doing hydroponics drain-to-waste style. You want to fill your one gallon bucket, add nutrients, ph it, then flood your medium until you see ample run off. When you use the nutrient calculators, you want to use your watering bucket as your reservoir, not the container that holds the soilless potting mix. However, when growing in the ground, you want to mix a slow-release fertilizer into the soil or feed using liquid fertilizers like organic compost teas. Hydroponics leech (drain) really fast in soil. You'll end up using to much, wasting money, and it's not really good for the environment (effects ground water and microbes living in the soil).
