Hey everyone,
Wanted to share a little product that changed my ventilation ideas forever.
http://www.suncourt.com/DuctStat.html
No more timers or having to run the fans more on hot days. This puppy will replace these by measuring the actual TEMPERATURE so that your grow room will always be the right temperature.
Especially now that summer is upon us those of us that struggle with heat and a balance between fans on all the time ( and the noise related to most inexpensive inline fans ) I found a relatively simple solution to my cooling problem.
Designed to be used with inline duct fans this Independent thermostat is extremely inexpensive for how effective it is. Bought mine at Menards for $25.
It does not have to be used exclusively with duct fans... Simply mounted on a wall, the DuctStat will sense ambient temperature and turn ON or Off at the temperature you select.
You may control any device with a 5 Amp maximum load.
General operation is pretty care free after the simple setup. You install the thermostat downwind of your inline fan on your ducting to allow it to sample the air blasting through. By adjusting the cool knob to the left (clockwise) first until the fan turns on.. and then to the right ( counter-clockwise ) until the fan just turns off.
If you find your fans cycling too much ( too many on/off actuations ) you can flip the switch to MAX to let it run a little less sensitively. For an attic grower this was a godsend.
