Promix Ph Woes

Watering ph is at 6.4, run off is being tested at 6.8-6.9 in flowering. I've been having a bit of problems with ph for whatever reason leading to deficiencies and lockout in flowering. I'm alternating between just plain watering and feeding. Medium is straight promix bx, not amended with anything. Runoff, I run with a little over a 10% run off. Should I be dropping ph down even further on the watering to balance it out or do I just have a satanic bag of promix?

Edit : Just tested the run off of another plant, same strain, same age same feed/schedule and it's runoff tested at 7.0

i think your problem Is worrying about the p.h to much. I think your probably misdiagnosing the problem. those numbers are good and wouldn't cause any kind of lockout. And runoff doesn't mean anything.
What is the problem with the plant? what nutes? what strength?where do you get your water?

also, no nutes are in pro-mix

I would test ppm on the run off and look to add a cal/mag supplement and feed 3 outta 4 waterings rather than every other like u originally posted. I had the same problem in promix bx as well. ur plants are trying to feed from the leaves to get whatever they are lacking. promix flushes so well that it's basically like u are growing hydro thus requiring a slightly lower ph 5.6_-6.2 and constant feedings.

Feed is +/- 380ppm between the water (well water) and nutrients (1/4 tsp dyna gro, 1/4 tsp dyna bloom). I add in a sugar supplement (floranectar or mollasses depending on what I have). I add some ph down usually, my water is at about 7, and it takes about 1/2 ml of ph down to get 6.4-6.5. Sometimes I'll add cal mag (botanicare brand) anywhere from 1/4 tsp tp 1/2 tsp. With the problems lately I've switched over to a feed > water (+ sugar) in the last week or so. Light is 600w hps, with a cooling hood. Temps at the top of the canopy is low 80's by the end of the day, middle can get to be middle 70's. Night time temps can drop to low/middle 60's. Potters are 1.87 Gallon.

feed at 800ppm or more a few times in a row bro. 380ish is cool for soil like r/o or fox farm cuz they retain a lot more food than promix does. using promix is like using rockwool and hydroton as far as nutrient retention goes. right now those girls need as much food available as possible my man. give them a good basic nutrient mix without to many additives and get the [email protected]

The Dyna is great stuff, it took me a few runs with it to get it right also. but at a 1/2 tsp, is to low. add more Grow to it. I run 5ml (1 tsp) of grow, a couple times during flower I will add another 2-3mls of bloom, jus for kiks. Also, if you get the protekt additive, add 2-3 ml of that into your water first, then you wont need the PH down. ur numbers should land at 6.2 ish every time. i feed about 600-800 ppm.

they are looking pretty good otherwise.

Just ran 5ml grow and 3ml protekt in a gallon to test, for what ever reason though it drops it to only about 6.8 for me (Freshly calibrated it before hand just to make sure). I'll probably follow this, though I'll drop the ph down a bit further with ph down.

The protekt raises PH, through the roof. I bet if you check it after adding the protek its around 8 or 9. the grow will bring it back down. try adding only 2ml of protekt next time. most of us DG users only use enough protekt to hit our PH number.

also, i know your already at 5ml of grow, a little more will bring the ph down a tad also if u wish. course you may want to pay attention to how the plants react. tho 1ml of grow is only worth about 100 ppm.

my water here is a nice ph 7.0 usually right out of the tap, around 35-45 ppm. its so clean i have to run magpro, as if it were like RO water.

Cool, I'll experiment a bit with protekt then and see how I can hit my numbers. Is this 5ml per feed or per week?

5ml/gallon of water, per feed, but I feed almost every watering. This winter had me all messed up, new grow area, temps are fairly chilly, specially during the dark cycle, which is during the daytime. I roll 5pm-5am lights on.

anyways, the posts dont dry up as fast as id like so im limited to about one watering a week. during the summer months its not uncommon for them to need water everyday or every other day. then I feed twice, water once. feed twice... and so on...

Yeah I noticed the water hasn't been getting sucked as fast, I use to be able to go about 2 days (summer) and now it has to be more like 3-4 days sometimes. Honestly though, I prefer it to summer and AC bills. If it gets too hot I can pop open a window. That's why my long term schedule cuts summer out entirely and leaves me with around 8-9 months to work within before shutting down and hugging an air conditioner. Summer here with humidity, easily 90+ anywhere in the house, basically 3 months of human suffering.

i hear ya, here its a trade off, heat in the winter, AC in the summer. I run my AC all summer. and i prefer being able to pound the water to them. this winter my yields are almost 50% of my summer yields.
so I cant wait for spring to get here...I thought about running a heater, but honestly i feel like the plants prefer the cold temps, they are frostier than ever, and im getting really nice color change out of them. its a good color change to, not the "no nute starving themselves" type.

in some of my threads I have posted pics of how bad some of the yellowing i was getting, was getting. since iv adopted my new nute schedule, the same strains are going full term with nice green leaves.

I use the same mix and feed at up to 1100ppm feed 3 watering and straight ro the 4th and my ph is at 5.8 most times "that's where the ph perfect brings it to" no problems i would try this feeding schedule if i were u. long story short i agree with sacpirate...
