Promix pros, weigh in. Promix, ph, and lime, oh my!

Hello, I'm a bit confused about using Promix Bx. I have some seedlings started and I added 1 tsp crushed lime per gallon of loose soil. (30% perlite mixed in also). My runoff ph is around 6.6. From what I have read previously, the ph of promix should be in the area of 6.2-6.3. If lime raises ph, then why is it recommended by some to add so much that the ph goes out of the acceptable range? Should I just go straight promix and pearlite from now on? I have a clone that has been growing a month in this same soil and it seems to be doing ok and has a similar runoff ph. Also I tried a test plant that had no lime and I didn't ph water or nutes, as I've seen some other tutorials say, and it actually did ok. I had to trash her after a month though because I'm out of room in the veg room and she was slightly light green at the tip. So, what's the lowdown on Promix and ph?

I use promix bx - W/mycorize .. it usually ph's around 6.7 .. i dont add any perlite or anything else, just add ph'd water to it (6.2) for the first 2 weeks .. no nutes .. works well for me .., when adding the nutes i always go 1/2 strength and build up from there .. hope this helps

Thanks! That's pretty much what I've been doing so far, just 6.2 ph'd ro water and no nutes yet until week 3 or so.
