Could anyone explain what are the pros and cons of organic vs chemical nutes. Not looking for the health reasons or that its good for the planet blah blah blah..What i am looking for is how it effect's the growing of the plant. does it make stronger buds, the taste, speed of growth, and so on.. does anyone have a recommendation for a kit? organic or not. I know foxfars sells the dirty dozen kit, general organics has the go box.
Thanks for any answers.
Keep them growing big and tight.

get a compost pile, a worm bin, and you are set.
the advantages are numerous, more terpine development, better smoke, better on the environment, cheaper, easier (no ph, ppm BS)
it won't make them s
once you go organic, most don't go back to synth grows.
and if you are looking for bottled nutrients I can't help you there, I believe they are a waste.
but some find them helpful.

I live in an apartment so turning dirt and worms in a wheel barrel isn't going to work. I use ffof for my grow medium which is organic but I'm looking for a line or recipe for bottled mutes. Preferably a kit.
Thanks again for the quick responses

you are buying water when you buy liquid fertilizers you can get everything a plant needs in powder form. Earth JUICE makes organic dry fertilizer in grow and bloom they have everything the plants need and there are others too but EJ has been doing it from the start.

If you have organic soil that you've sterilized with heat, will the roots be able to uptake nutrients or will bacteria need to be restored in order for the nutrients to be plant available?

You don't need a wheel barrel. you just need a 4x4 space to mix soil. just use 2 18 gal rubbermaids. Mix back and forth. . put on some gloves and mix the soil mix by hand. You don't have to mix 8 bags of soil at once. just break it down into smaller increments.

I live the condo life
I have 8 rubbermaids stacked and filled with soil at all times in a walk in closet. I mix roughly 2 cubic feet of soil at a time.

I do my mixes either in the flower room or my bedroom . Anything I have to build I do it in the living room or outfront.

Not trying to argue what is better, worms, synthetic urea, or nitrate salts, but I do think a DWC is a lot easier for people in apartments who cringe at the thought of getting soil all over the carpets/bathroom. You just have to deal with water then.

Vacuum . If soil is wet leave it til it dries. Then vacuum. Comes right up.
not to be asinine, but really how hard is it to keep the soil in the containers?
even mixing ain't hard, just get a bin, or put out plastic.
yrs ago, I grew organically for 6 yrs in an apt, it's only a teensy bit more work, my biggest complaint was no room for a compost pile.
but it's just dirt, and most are fairly competent at keeping it where it's supposed to be.

chems have longer shelf life. you can fry your plants with out dated organic hydro nutes.
Dude, come on.

You couldn't even get past the seedling stage because your brother was killing them. Lol.

To be honest the health reasons and taste are the only reason. That and the water only thing. No mixing and what not.

I wouldn't say faster growth. Probably slower growth to.be honest. Until your soil gets a few runs and reammending. By then stuff will be breaking down. Organic gets better with time.

It saves you a lot of time. Just run two batches of dirt. While one is used for the grow mix amendments in the other, mid and keep most. Rotate out. No mixing. No meters, no bs.

All of those you can do.

Get the book "worms eat my garbage.". People hide worm bins as coffee tables. You can make a small composter.

Mix your soil in big totes. Two batches. Rotate out.

Its easy man.

I'm in a condo but thought a nice organic mix was out of the question. I'll have to try that out.

In the meantime I'm using pro mix hp and botanicare pure blend grow and bloom which is mostly organic. Plants love it and it's easy to mix. It's a liquid though.

Do you reuse your soil?

I mean your growing in soil. You have soil there. Going organic just involves a second set of soil and a few bags of amendments.

Like a bag of alfalfa. 40 pounds for $15 at tractor supply or other feed store. It will last a lifetime. Just get a wall locker or cabinet to keep amendments in.
