Have you tried tying/bending down the branches so they catch more light? Don't cut the fan leaves though. They supply nutrients to the node its under. Try side lighting with CFLs. It looks nicer than a maimed plant.

Trimming fan leaves=bad. plain and simple. Buds don't make energy to make more buds, leaves do.
Ooooh, I wish I would have read this a while back. Is this the same during the veg process, when fan leaves start drooping and browning because their supported chutes are getting big and self-sufficient?

< really curious lol

Don't cut off your fan leaves. Not in veg, not in flower. The leaves collect the energy from the light, and nutrients from the feed, and turn it into energy the plant can use - buds included. They also store excess food for the plant. If she doesn't need the leaf, she'll use it up/drop it on her own.
