Public Gardens?

Obviously the legal landscape will be unpredictable and constantly changing over the next few years as our state leagalizes, but let's put that aside for a moment.

I was thinking about the idea of opening some sort of public mmj gardens. The thought being, people who live in apartments or just done have the space or full resources to have a garden need some where to grow. I then pictured something like a storage facility but each room equipt with full hydro, soild or areo options. People can pay a monthly or yearly fee to rent space to have their own garden area. Keeps it private, would offer MUCH security and save some space as well. Could be accessible at any time for them to come garden or off options for trained professionals to check on or tend ones garden if they were not able to make it in.

simply a concept, with much more thought to go, but any opinions?

It's a good idea, but I don't think it would work in the current regulatory environment. There doesn't seem to be any MMJ license that would permit you to do such, and under the rec laws, grows have to be in a residence or be licensed. You'd probably be unable to get it off the ground without any sort of license, as no locality would permit an unlicensed MJ business. If you did something like that in a residential zone, you'd likely get lots of bad attention from nosy neighbors, which would bring unwanted law enforcement attention. And, if any money is changing hands (like rent on the space, or paying a professional grower), you'd likely draw even more unwanted law enforcement attention, and would likely be in violation of a zoning law. I just don't see it working in the system...but it does make lots of sense.

Cheers!

Jus makes scenes thanks for the enlightenment on the laws and such. It is a good idea if someone could find a way for it to operate with the law.

Like other innovative ideas, there usually is not any foundations or 'jumping off points' that exists when its thought of to support it, and that's half the fun is starting that.
I would think since commercial gardens exist it would fall into a similar category but I agree it would be nothing but an uphill battle.

I've been in professional business environments for to long and I want to do what I am true passionate about for not only my own happiness but to help others with the same passion. Maybe this is something that wont be viable for a while but there are others things too.

If anyone from CO feels the same way or is interested in investigating this, and other ideas, I welcome you to message me directly and we can talk more. I would love to meet other like-minded folks.

Hello, like CSU and Jus said, I think it is a good idea and it is outside the box. If you could pull it off that would be cool, just not sure of viable due to current laws.

Did martin luther king think his dream was viable?!?!?! No but he tried and did it!!!

And yes, I did just compare this to the civil rights movement. But its okay I know a guy who knows a guy who met a black guy once, so its cool for me to say that. :-)
