Pure Kush Topanga

First time growing this. It looks better than I was expecting for a replacement plant.

Cut the following morning after a long night. Turned out to be incredible and surprisingly good as far as flavor effect and texture. Best I've come across. It went quick.

Is this a clone or from seed? Where’d it come from?

Clone. I live in SoCal and came across a good one. I'm really happy with it and reminds me of really good old school batches of Kush that hasn't seemed to be the around in a long time. Smelled good as a clone too. Started out with a musky lime old spice kinda thing then developed into something more complex and creamy as it flowered. Smoke was kushy and rich with a fuely cedar oil and cinnamon, spice along with rose flavors...all very dry that kept making me think back to it as I smelled things throughout the week. Very positive and uplifting with a comfortable peaceful high that rides over others.

Nice. Sounds awesome. I’ve been looking for a nice Pure Kush and am in that area too. I may send you a PM.

I think there may be two cuts going around called Topanga. There’s a more Pure Kush cut, that may be the same thing as Hollywood/Malibu/LA Pure Kush. This is always described as having that lime, marshmallow kush smell you mentioned.

There’s also the Topanga OG that Jungle Boys grows and sells, which has none of that smell. It’s just pure gas, like an OG, but no hint of lemon at all. It also doesn’t have the typical dense, thick buds of an OG, but is a little more fluffy, like Bubba Kush. It also isn’t a pure OG in high either, a little more relaxed and comfortable than your typical OG. My best guess is that the Topanga OG is an OG x Pure Kush/Bubba Kush cross.

That's good to know. I heard about the Topanga Canyon and looked up a full plant picture that had almost the same looking leaves. I figured it was the same just hadn't made it out to try it. The leaf looks very similar, but this one is rock solid with very nice density. Still that sounds good with the straight fuel description. I might have to pick up a batch sometime to see what it's like.

Also the Bubba I'm familiar with definitely doesn't have fluffy nugs. It's a classic that just doesn't seem to get represented properly anymore.
