purple buds

does the cold turn the buds purple on the plant. my plant is just over five feet and it looks ready to cut the buds are turning purple, sticky and are very crystaly. its so posed to be getting cold soon, so if i wait and cut my plant in october is it bad for it to be in the cold, any difference in smoking wise??

Yes cold can change the color. You cut it down when all or almost all of the trichomes are cloudy and 10-15% amber.

Mostly amber for a body stoned.
