purple steam

Hi peeps.
Was just wondering if the purple in my steam was anything to worry about ? she's a violater kush and is roughly 5 weeks into flowering. It's mainly at the bottom of the plant and goes about half way up and a few of the steams attached to the leafs are a bit purple as well.
I've included pics but the camera didn't focus very well. I haven't really given her any nutes (only some to clear up a nitrogen problem) and a very weak solution of alg-a-mic and top max early this week. I'm gonna give her some molasses tomorrow, she hasn't had any molasses before.
Is this something to worry about and how would i correct it ? DSC01372.jpgDSC01371.jpg

I normally back off on the nutes when I see it. Not majorly not unless I see slowed growth. I just cracked 5 Violator Kush I hope they are nice !

Its pretty hard to burn with the biobizz nutrients. Once in heavy flower I used a ml of grow and up to 3 of bloom all the way through along with bio heaven then a drop of overdrive and sensizym at the end to great result.

Just keep an eye on it and if you see it go downhill or you see growth slow then you probably need to feed on the basis that you havent really fed yet. I would give the plants a balanced nutrient (maybe 1ml of grow and 1ml of bloom per litre maybe a lil more bloom) make sure you water to run through every time if you can, solves a lot of issues before they start.

Do you know if it's okay to use nutes and molasses in the same watering ?

Yeah, if you see the stems turning purple/pinkish color.. you should lower the strength of the nutrients (simply dilute the mix with more water) and not feed the plant(s) for a good two weeks.

I generally feed my ladies every other week.. or, twice per month. This ensures that I won't/shouldn't have any problems.

I would also suggest you to go ahead and flush out the medium.

good luck.

Yes but the Bio grow contains lots of sugars, B1 and other nice things to feed the micro's in the soil. Thats why you use 1 ml of bio grow all the way through.

I personally don't use molasses but it is definately something I am looking into.

Just bear in mind that if you are feeding bio grow it has lots of sugars in it and you should go easy on the molasses if you are feeding both :)

Personally IMO (you should always formulate your own opinion on these things) Water straight water for 2/3 days and see if growth continues to slow or speeds up. If it continues to slow then add food and if it speeds up keep on the water til it slows.

Its about gauging your plants and knowing when they are hungry and when they are not.

PS in soil I majorly recommend micorrhizal fungi and trichaderma or similar bacterial bene's

okay conflicting information here so should i give it food or not ? the soil i'm using is MG potting mix. It doesn't have time release plant food in it but it was treated with MG plant food that apparently it's meant to last 6 months. I have a flush solution if i used that would it flush out all the MG plant food ? I kinda did a semi flush at the weekend ph dropped way down so i flushed the soil a little bit to get it back to normal.

EEEK MG Soil !

Yes I am an MG hater and I will first of all suggest you repot it into something else as best you can.

If not then I dont know because MG soil can be temperamental. IMO (Bear in mind you should always formulate your own opinions on these things) I would continue to water see if it gets better in a week or so then feed.

Under feeding is much easier to fix than nute burn/lockout/ph issues / god knows what that you end up with when you put too much nutrient in the soil.

Yet again this is just my opinion.

I can really re pot - don't have any other soil and it's only got a few weeks left ... i think i might just leave it then and carry on with plain water and a bit of molasses. I know some strains do have purple steams i was just checking weather it was anything to worry about, but it doesn't seem to really be bothering her. She's still growing fine. I've heard other people say that plant goes through a stage in flowering where everything looks like it's slowing down then BAM! bud growth explosion.

I done like a mini journal here: https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/461093-harvest-time-3.html so you can see the growth from last week to this week.

Wouldnt worry too much then, Just feed if it requires and keep it simple with the waterings :)

I have a violator going into week 3 of flower on Saturday.
I would not worry about purple stems
it may be phosphorus deficiency or due to cold weather
I've heard molasses contain a bit of phosphorus, gonna water it now and give it some molasses see how it goes then if not might give it a very very weak solution of bio bizz bloom

Well i'm not 100% sure as i don't have a min and max thermometer just a standard one but my house is warm at night so i don't think it'd drop that much maybe 10 degree difference between the day and night.

then i would spray with epsom salt n water..very cheap and fast fay to give her a boost of magnesium

I've got alg-a-mic which contains some mag and stuff. Don't even know where i could get epsom salt from never seen it in any of the diy/garden stores by me. Plus i don't wanna keep spending money at this stage as I'm broke :( and I've only got a few weeks left, but it might be something i'll invest in for my next plant if i do one.
