purple stems

ive noticed that the stems of one of my plants stems has turned purple. I read that the stems can turn purple if its cold during flowering.. i dont think it gets that cold at night. the temp in my apartment at night is around 70 and i got the intake + exhaust running 24/7 which might lower the temp in the box.

could this be my problem?

i personally dont run the exhaust when my lights are off

It's genetics... i think u might have a purp strain.. I got some purp kush with purp stems on the fan leaves. That's how I can easily distinguish it from my white strains.

Could be the strain, cold, or a sign of stress

There is no need for the fans and exaust fans to be running when the lights are off.This could be the cause of the problem but i would say that it is more likely to be a coulour from the strain that you are growing somewhere along the line of the genetics.Flush the plants with a ph of 5.5 and give them a hour for the run of to get out of the tub then re~introduce some fresh made nutrients wait for this to run of then back under the lights.I say back under the lights because this is best done in a bath.Don't worry about flushing and feeding straight after has long has you don't give the plants any more water for a week or so they will be fine.I flush once a week doing this same method and the plants stay green till the end but the plants will only need one feed a week if useing soil.It is good to let the plants dry out this will give you a far better root system.To many people worry about coulouring in the stems there is alot of differant views on this subject but i think it is down to the genetics of some strains.But it can be caused by excess salts in the grow medium that is why it is best to flush the plants once a week or once a fortnight at most.

A phosphorus deficiency will come w/ purple stems but also your bottom leaves would be turning yellow as well.
If the temp dips below 50 at night and 70 during the day and purple stems are inherent to the strain thats it.

the fans are running 24/7 for a reason, the exhaust is for the carbon filter and intake for sturdy stems, there are 3 other of the same strand in there that arent getting purple stems. but im also not seeing yellowing on the leaves

im dont flush too often unless im goin to be away for a few days to where if i dont they will dry and die. If i just feed her straight water for a week or so, no nutes, do u think that would be ok?

hmm actually u guys are probably right about the partly purp strain. i killed 2 that were males that had the purp stems n now my other 1 of my other 2 has it (the last one was stuned so it will get it within a week or so i bet.. thanks 4 the help

plants usually don't turn purple until later in flowering.
many of my plants get purple/dark red stripes to them.
i'm not sure what causes it, but i don't think it's bad.

ive been flowering for 3-4 weeks now, most my plants were stunted big time in veg so i think since, this bein my first grow n me not having enough knowledge or supplies at the time, that when i sent them into flowering most of them werent developed enough, so when i saw the first one turn purple it concerned me. those ones were a good way into flowering they starting growing alot of balls before i cut em. the rest of my crop is about 1-2 weeks behind those in flowering bcuz of bein stunted. i just figured the since it was those 3 out of 4 plants, all which r the same strain, and the 4th ones stunted, that it is a purp strain and that the 4th will change within a week

edit: i got 2 other strains growin which i havent seen any signs of purp on the stems n they all get the same treatment in the same box
