putting earthworms in your pots?

think it might help? has anyone tried this? im just curious and thought it might be a cool idea, if you do an indoor grow just put a few earthworms inside your soil

I've never tried it myself but it should work, earthworm castings are one of the best things for plants.

I was just trying to study the very same thing. Vermiculture is a hobby of mine picked up to help my herbs and marijuana. I understand above 90f will stress a worm, they prefer 70-80, and keeping it organic would be a must.
Everyone uses black plastic to gain heat, I was thinking about wrapping my 18 gallon tubs, with a white trash bag. This will reflect the heat and the light.
I suppose if I bury the 18 gallon half way or better into the ground, it will work as a heat sink. I hope it does and the worms don't leave through the drain holes I have in the tubs. Wow that would suck.

hey guys the answer to your question is yes earthworms are good for your plants. especially if you are going organic. they will make tunnels which allow roots proper ventilation and also poop nitrogen rich poop which ur plants love. no the worms will not die from temperature at hot hours they will reside at the bottom of your pot were is more moist and cooler. if they die out of heat then the grow room is too hot even for your plants and they will brn along with the worms. 1st grow was 2 batches one with worms the other without and the 1 with worms manifested a much better growing rate than the one without. same nutrition same lighting same conditions and the setup was 600 hps closet nothing sophisticated so the temperature in there was even a little too warm for confort. some of the plants suffered a heat stress till i aplied ventilation to cool off but guess what. the worms didnt suffer from the heat. so thumbs up for worms and i always stick a few in mine
