Pythium Nitemare

I grow in DWC in 20 gallon totes. I've been doing hydro for about 5 years now & growing for over 30 years.

Recently I have encountered a problem that may likely force me to quit growing,,hydro anyhow. It's called Pythium/snot? I don't know if it's because I did not sterilize this new rock that I tried instead of the hydroton pellets or how the infection started, but it's infected at least 20 of my plants!

I know about H2o2 & different products like hygrozyme (which i can't afford). From what I have read, just washing with strong bleach does not kill these pythium spores! I have to wash everything with a medical cleaning solution.

I can't' get the search feature to work to look up a thread dicussing solutions regarding elimination and prevention of Pythium root to in hydroponic DWC.

I may just switch to organic growing for a while until I can study up on what to do & whether it's even worth it to me to try & continue growing in DWC.

In all of my years of growing,,all the pitfalls,,,spider mites,,,root aphid,,I've never had such a devistating disease hit my crop & it's just frustrating as hell.

I don't re-circulate these buckets. I don't get how it passes from plant to plant? I just know that this is about the worse shit that any grower could encounter as far as plant diseases.

My water is always cool, hell it's winter for cryin out loud. running 2 60 watt air pumps. I've always just used plain tap water. I also read that pythium spores are in tap water!

ANyhow lol,,,what a bummer . Any ideas or knowledge would be appreciated & sorry about the spelling, I'm obviously no mental giant that's why I'm here asking about this.
