I have a 400w HPS i bought from HTG supply the hood is not air cooled I have modified it with a 4 in duct connected to the end of it which it connected to a 6 in inline duct fan to help pull heat away. This made a big difference but my room temps are still to high. My question is can I attach a piece of plexi glass under the hood and drill some intake holes on the side so that all the heat flows throgh the vent tube? I dont know what the heat ratting on plexi glass is im worried about fire. Has anyone done this or seen it done? Thanks alot.

I wouldnt try that that sounds like a fire hazard. If u got some extra cash call htg up and see if you can still get a discount on the reflector it worked for me.I bought a 400 and the week after i bought the euro reflector for the discounted price.

Yeah i just dont want to wait. I am doing some reasearch now on temp ranges for plexi. I think I can get it to work just fine, hopefully. If worse comes to worse I will make a new reflector one of the percs of working at a fabrication shop lol.

Hopefully all works out and good luck.Check this site out im sure you can find out how to make a cooltube or something for cheap.
