Instead of using rockwool cubes could I just place stems directly into ground soil? Would that work?
alright I was just gonna make a small hole with a pencil or something in my grass and place the stem in there and press in tightyea. make sure the soil is packed tight enough to hold the clone but not too tight as it won't grow roots. I have had better results with the powder rooting hormone than gel in soil. That is just me tho
Ya I was going to fix around the area and probably rip the grass out so theres a 4x4in patch of just dirt to put it in maybe put some plastic around it like you said that sounds like a good idea, It's in my backyard and I live in southern cali so I don't have to worry about deer xDwait - are you putting them in a lawn? that doesnt sound right to me.. i think the grass would choke the little plant's roots and there would be tons of bugs.. also if you have deer they might well eat it whole..
i would at least - cultivate and clear the grass around the plant - and maybe add some protection like a cut-up milk jug or something around it..
just my $0.02 - i wont take my clones out of the greenhouse until they're like 10" - it's a dangerous world out there..
