Can you keep cloning cloned plants
Yes, lots of people do it this way.
....what will it effect
People ask this question all the time, the answer is - nothing! What most people fail to understand is that every new batch of clones isn't a "Biological Generation" (where input from male and female combine to produce a "Blended" offspring). What you are actually dealing with is "parts" of the same plant, growing to maturity, over and over again. Unless you do something dreadfully wrong; "the same plant" will remain unchanged, even as more and more cuttings are taken and grown to maturity.
and why keep a mother
For personal growers, it's purely a matter of choice. For "Big Time" growers, it's a matter of having a dependable supply of potential clones, in adaquate numbers, on hand at all times. This is really only possible with "Mothers" because they're grown and trained a little differently. To make a long story short - A properly groomed mother can produce a lot of clones at one time.
