question about going from ezcloner to hydotron balls.

ok i made an easier cloner to hold 50 clones. I made my own neoprene collars and plan on just using them, no net pots.

then i'm going to be ordering stuff for dual hydro setups 20-25 sites each.

my question is when i transplant them to the hydroton balls do i hold the rooted clone in the net pot and carefully fill in the balls around the stem? will this hold it up?

something seems fishy... lead me straight.

Hahaha... I'm in pretty much the exact same situation. I've got a thread going with questions I've had so far (probably pretty similar to yours).
I'll also be keeping track of my progress there so you can watch me make mistakes so you won't have to.

So far the best answer i've heard to that one is to be very gentle, try to spread to roots out and water by hand for the first couple days.
I should be starting my tables up in 4 or 5 days so stay tuned.

get your rooted clones, hold your net pot, allow the root to slip into the holes of the netpot, backfill with claypellets, myself i kinda hold the netpot and clone with one hand so i can gently place the pellets all around...piece o cake

and yea the clay pellets will hold a tree inplace, remember as the stem gets thicker it will have more resistance against the hydroton and be nice and tight
