Question about height (pics)

See in the pics below the height of some of my plants. I tried topping on one, LST tying on the shorter ones, and the others... well you can see by their height. My question is this: This is my first time grow, but you see how it is budding on the top and then quite a stretch until the next node? This happened in the two weeks since switching to 12/12. Will I have massive spacing between budding or will the bud naturally fill its way between like I see on some colas that people post?

Sorry for the noob questions, but I have come to rely on this site and advice heavily during my first grow. Maybe after a few more runs I can help others.

I had kind of the same problem with my grow. I had to keep my lights pretty far away during the summer because of heat. My journal has a pic or two of some pretty long node spacing.

Most likely too little light or light is too far away. What are you using for illumination anyways?

I am using a 400 watt HPS. I moved it from a foot from the plants to a foot and a half a while back when I switched from metal halide to the HPS cuz I thought it was burning leaves. But I actually think I had some nute lock on one plant cuz of how the yellowing happened. Not exactly sure, learning as I go. So since the 4 of them are so tall is my grow fucked now? Are the nodes too spaced?

Dont worry about it. Its still producing bud, just not going to win a world championship with it, not the end of the world. I made the same mistake and now I know I need better ventilation.

I also think I have too many plants in the space.... 7 of them. Looks like quite a few buds going though. I am trying to get a pound, but being my first grow I am just waiting to see. Do tighter nodes produce more bud?

that is normal. you will start growing the bud and it will stay small it seems till about week 6 when that gets here it will really start to swell up. the plant will also double or triple in height during flowering and the nodes will start spacing different and in the end if grown to its full potential you will have a cola on top. good luck
