Hey everyone,
I recently purchased a 400w HPS builb with built-in ballast. It is an awesome light, except a little too powerful for my ~2'x3' grow box. It is quite hot in the box, even with ventilation, and the babies are shriveling. It is also quite loud so it is hard to sleep at night.
I was curious if I purchased a 150w bulb instead;
1) Would the ballast even work with a bulb of lesser wattage?
2) Would the ballast recognize the lower wattage bulb, and not use the same amount of power, hence lowering the noice it makes?
