Question about lighting

I am ready to purchase a light for my grow closet and was hoping to get some educated answers as to what is best to purchase. I have read through the Grow FAQ and through MANY posts here and have a current thread showing the 3 stages of my so far laughable setup. I have about $200.00 dollars to invest so my question is this. Given the choice between a combo ballast and light package of a MH ballast and bulb and a HPS ballast and bulb at 400w each or 2 12x12 LED panels one red one blue which would be the better purchase. The first one is about $180.00 after shipping and the LED's are $155.00 after shipping. Both are from High Tech Garden Supply and are well within my budget. Or does anyone have a different source available for lighting?

i know the exact leds you are talking about , dont get them! they suck. They are only good as supplemental lighting, if you only use the leds then your buds will come out really wispy and crap.
Get yourself a 400w hps set up and a mh conversion bulb ( mh bulb that runs off hps ballast) and you should be set to grow some sweet ass plants!

youre going to need a shit load more LEDs. Dont do LEDs on a budget. I just ordered four of those panels for my veg to go with some fluoros and some CFLs. And i got 4 spotlight red ones for secondary lights in my flower.
